Role: MCR Engineer Job Type: Permanent Salary: £35-40,000pa + overtime and bonus Location: Farringdon The Role: As a member of the MCR Engineering team youll be entrusted with the daily functioning of the MCR You will ensure that everything runs smoothly by constantly providing customers with zero outages and communication Tech and services change regularly, therefore having the ability to be adaptable and flexible is a significant attribute Double checking routing and incident reports You will join an industry leading team of MCR experts that values an extremely high level of service? You will be an MCR Engineer, not an MCR Operatorand therefore learning and doing more You will be hands on with the equipment in terms of configuring and fault finding You will have the authority and responsibility to make decisions on your own Responsibilities: Hands on configuration & management of Satellite uplinks, encoders, irds, multiplexers, Conditional Access, AWS, NetInSight, Dektec/Bridgetech/Nevion Transport Stream analysers, Dataminer and so much more. Set up video and Radio Frequency equipment to receive and transmit video services, including first level fault finding and escalation Routing and switching of events based on internal booking system Proactively ensuring all system checks are complete Complete transmission reports (internal & external) Be in direct contact with technology providers and customers Management of IP contribution circuits Skills Required: Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment Have the autonomy to be able to work alone as well as part of a team Prior experience working in a Broadcast MCR Commercial experience with Satellite uplinks, encoders, irds, multiplexers, Conditional Access, AWS, NetInSight, Dektec/Bridgetech/Nevion Transport Stream analysers, Dataminer Skills Preferred: Experience of the UK sports broadcasting industry would be beneficial. Extensive years of experience in broadcast engineering, with a focus on IP networks and cloud technologies. Proven experience in migrating broadcast systems from legacy technologies to IP networks. Strong proficiency in broadcasting cloud technologies, including Nimbra, Techex Cloud, and AWS. In-depth knowledge of broadcast infrastructure, video encoding, decoding, and transport protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
