    Your Working Week

    This is a full-time position with a contract of 30-33 hours per week. Lead Cooks receive 6 weeks of paid holiday and accrue a further 6 weeks of holiday during their working weeks. This allows for 12 weeks holiday a year, closely following the school holiday dates. These accrued holiday hours means the average working week is around 38 hours per week.

    Monday - Friday, no late nights or weekend work (with the option of a 4-day week)

The final pay level will be determined based on the experience and skills of the successful candidate.

    Responsibilities

    Complete scheduled vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines
    Undertake diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for customer vehicle issues
    Conduct electronic visual health checks (eHVC) on all vehicles and provide a comprehensive report with expert advice and recommendations for customers
    Liaise directly with customers and service advisors, providing outstanding customer service
    Ensure vehicle servicing activities are completed in a safe and high quality manner, in line with both internal and manufacturer requirements
    Participate in ongoing training and development to ensure product and service knowledge is up to date.

    Required Skills and Experience

    You will need be a Level 3 qualified vehicle technician or time service with expierence with a full UK driving licence, ideally with manufacturer experience. In addition to your prior experience, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

    Excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
    A strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
    Outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.

    The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is currently recruiting permanent Maintenance Engineer- Systems to work within our prisons near you across Scotland.

    The Maintenance Engineer - Systems will support the SPS Maintenance Team in all aspects of Estates work. Delivering preventative and reactive maintenance activities on various SPS security, building management and life safety systems.

    There will be a requirement for you to periodically work on call hours, and you may need to travel to other establishments and areas. For this reason, a full driving licence that enables the person to drive in the UK is preferred. SPS is willing to consider proposals put forward by applicants to carry out the duties by any other means.

    We currently have vacancies across many of our locations. However, further vacancies in other locations across Scotland may arise at any point.
