    Perform daily and weekly stock checks of vehicles, tools, panels, and accessories
    Log deliveries, recoveries and site checks on tickets signed by the customer
    Drive using driver cards as per DVSA regulations
    Maintain and submit all legal and company paperwork accurately and on time

    What We're Looking For

    HGV C+E licence (Class 1) - Essential
    Experience in similar role
    Comfortable with the physical installation phase of the role (training provided)
    Current valid CPC Training Card
    Experience of using a lorry loaded crane (Hiab etc.)

    Course information

    Previous experience working as an HGV Technician (Volvo experience is a plus but not essential)

    The ideal candidate would have experienced and/or knowledge of the quarrying industry, with a formal engineering qualification in plant maintenance, agricultural machinery or HGV mechanics, such as NVQ level 3 / city and guilds or equivalent. The position will report directly into the the Head of Field Service, working closely on a day-day basis alongside operational management across the region. Training, where required will be provided for the right candidate.

    Key Responsibilities

    -Repair of heavy-duty quarrying equipment, including excavators, articulated haulers, wheel loaders, bulldozers etc. from industry leading brands such as Volvo & Caterpillar to a high standard.
    - To carry out inspections and preparation of machines for hire or sale duties, such as check-ins/outs, fitting buckets or attachments, reversing cameras, radars etc.
    - Ability to carry out major overhaul on engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulics etc.
    - Diagnose and problem solve mechanical, hydraulic or electrical on machines.
    - Order parts for your repair as necessary, return any unused parts in a clean condition at the time of job completion.
    - Able to work on own initiative and part of a team.
    - Accurate and punctual completion of systems/paperwork.
    - Carry out all work in line with the company's core health, safety and environmental policies and safe working practices.
    - Highlight to management where additional works may be required.

    Job Skills & Requirements

    - 5+ years' relevant experience (post apprenticeship) in the repair and maintenance of Heavy Construction Plant - Bulldozers, Dump Trucks, Excavators, Graders, Loading Shovels etc.
    - NVQ or equivalent in engineering, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics.
    - Experience in maintaining heavy quarry / mining / construction equipment.
    - Knowledge and experience of working with Tier 4 and 5 engines, regen and AdBlue systems, Drive Lines, Hydraulics & Electrical Systems.
    - Experience and knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures, including use of laptops for fault finding / diagnostics is preferred, but not essential. Training will be provided where required.
