Measurement Engineer - EGSE Support Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a for a skilled Measurement Engineer - EGSE Support Engineer to work as part of the Special Test Measurements team in Derby providing a mixed portfolio of both new and mature capabilities to the aftermarket.
Experimental Engineering is accountable for all aspects of measurement methods and capability to support experimental, production and aftermarket requirements. Part of the aftermarket business requires the supply, calibration and maintenance of Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), i.e. equipment that is used during engine maintenance to determine the operability of the engine or a specific part of it.
This is a customer facing role servicing over 200 customers worldwide, and dealing with a number of strategic suppliers to deliver new, and to repair/maintain existing products. The role is broad and would benefit an individual who is able to adopt an overview technical understanding of the product domain to supplement the required engineering logistical skills.

Job Description A new, exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lifecycle Engineer to join our Product Maturity & Cost team within Controls Lifecycle Engineering. This includes processing and analysing LRU service data to provide insights and effect change to influence safety, reliability, and cost. An exciting opportunity has arisen for early career engineers to join our Submarines business in Derby.
We are looking for enthusiastic graduates with a passion for simulation and analysis to join our team. You will be provided with all the training required to develop into a Nuclear Core and Systems Performance Engineer. In this role you will perform analysis of the Naval Reactor Plant and in doing so develop a broad understanding of core thermal hydraulics, reactor plant operation and protection systems. This is an outstanding opportunity to work at the forefront of reactor performance analysis, supporting the in-service fleet as well as developing future reactor core and systems designs.
Due to the sensitive nature of our work, this role will be based permanently at our offices in Derby. There is an opportunity for occasional business travel to our waterfront locations in Plymouth, Faslane and Barrow-In-Furness.

What you will be doing:
You will carry out fluid flow and heat transfer analysis to support robust design evaluation of the Naval Reactor Plant, inluding:
Using a combination of commercial and in-house developed codes and methods to assess primary systems and their components, determining the consequences of a variety of normal operation and accident scenarios.Performing development, verification and validation of models used in the analysis of the nuclear plant.

What you will be doing:
Design Safety engineers influence design through understanding how failures will affect system operation, and analyse the resulting design, providing feedback on any impact this will have to the safety or reliability of the system and ensuring that the appropriate standards are met. This includes:
Evaluation of design concepts (potential failures, failure consequences and product-level hazards) and to define hazard mitigation strategies.Evaluation of a component design to identify potential failure modes and their resulting failure effects and criticality (e.g. FMECA).Identification of critical and significant parts and systems through detailed analysis of product risk level.To analyse failures numerically using deterministic and probabilistic mathematical methods.Analyse and quantify risks associated with human / system interaction including Human Factors.Production of Safety Case reports.Operation of a Failure Reporting Analysis & Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
