    An opportunity has arisen for a Systems Design Engineer to join one of our leading defence clients at their site in Hertfordshire.

    The Systems Design team is critical to the product development process, transforming customer requirements into lower-level system architectures (Physical and Functional) and system requirements.
    The role covers the majority of the Systems Engineering V model, negotiating requirements with the customer through to the verification and validation process; you will gain a detailed understanding of the design as well as building experience working with capable teams across all development activities.

    You will be part of a close-knit, hardworking, and highly motivated team striving to develop some of the world's most advanced technologies and the Systems Design Engineer will play a crucial role in this innovative development of these technologies.

    Skill and Experience;
    Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or have sufficient applicable defence industry experience.
    Experience with deriving and managing requirements,
    Experience with generating Functional and Physical Architecture using SysML, ARCADIA, or similar MBSE language,
    Experience dissecting and understanding customer requirements and disseminating them down into lower-level subsystem requirements and complex functional architectures,
    Consistent ability to deliver required output within agreed timescales,
    Skill in cultivating strong relationships with colleagues, external departments and customers,
    Experience with Model based Systems Engineering,

    Desirable Experience;
    Experience within the defence sector is desirable
    Experience with Systems engineering tools like DOORS / DOORS Next / Rhapsody / Capella desirable
    Experience with MATLAB and Simulink desirable
    Knowledge of RF/microwave and electronic systems, radar and control systems, and digital signal processing is desirable

    What will I be doing?

    As an experienced Electrician, you'll be involved in the installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems on advanced naval vessels.

    Pay Rates:

    Standard Shift - £23.02 per hour (including the holiday pay)

    Sunday OT - £43.54 per hour

    For PAYE (Inside IR35) contractors living more than 39 miles from the Glasgow base:
