    We have a contract vacancy for an experienced dairy herdsperson on 350-acre family farm near Shaftsbury. This herd of 170 crossbred cows, split equally between autumn and spring calvers are milked via a 16 x 16 Herringbone parlour with ACR'S and in-parlour feeders. Extensive grazing is practiced, when possible, with supplementary feed supplied. During winter months, a full TMR is supplied while cows are housed in a sand bedded cubicle shed with tractor scraping.
    The appointed person will be required to cover all milkings to a very high standard, with time off between, with a 7-hour working day being the norm.     Our team seeks a livestock enthusiast to join them on this progressive dairy unit in a great location not far from the Eastbourne coast. This role focuses on the herd of currently 500 high yielding Holstein/Friesian cows. Milking currently through a 20:40 DTL parlour, with ADF, Heat Time, Auto Shedding and comprehensive handling facilities. Calving in an autumn/winter block, the cows are housed in recently constructed first class conditions throughout and have yields in excess of 10,000 litres per cow. This position can develop as the unit develops. A 60-point rotary parlour is currently under construction with full supporting facilities and expansion into the sand bed cubicle housing as the unit grows to a 700-cow unit.     We have a contract vacancy for an experienced herdsperson to take day-to-day control of a 200-cow Lely robotic flying herd in Monmouthshire. This herd calves during a 9-month period, and there is a focus on summer grazing. Robotic manure scrapers are utilised, in the cubicle house. Duties will be numerous as no milking is required, so full herd health control, to include calvings, AI and foot trimming when required, winter feeding of cows, summer grassland management and all year feeding of calves. Control of vet visits, drying off and calvings.     An exciting contract vacancy has arisen for a highly accomplished and experienced couple to take day-to-day care of an all-year-round calving herd in Mid Dorset. The farm forms one of two similar sized units run by the owners as well as young stock units. The herd of 450 calves year-round and are milked through a 24:24 Baumatic parlour. Cows are cubicle housed and grazed through the season and fed a partial TMR in winter with top up in parlour. You will both come with a proven track record of running a herd of this size. The role will involve all aspects of caring for the herd with responsibility for milking, calving, fertility, being proactive with herd health, record keeping, and calf rearing. Yard work and feeding is done by others and the foot trimmer comes weekly.
    The farm is in a remote yet accessible location only a 15-minute drive from Yeovil or Sherborne.     The herd is milked via a very modern Fullwood 24 x 48 herringbone parlour with in parlour feeders. Whilst housed cows have access to sand cubicles with tractor scraped, passages, and are fed a TMR consisting of whole-crop and grass silages.
    The appointed person will be assistant to head herdsperson will be expected to take an interest in the day to day herd management to include extensive March to November grazing, so able to use quad bike and do electric fencing etc.
