    As a Vehicle Mechanic at Babcock International, you'll be part of a highly skilled team supporting the equipment and vehicles used by our defence customers. You'll undertake servicing, maintenance, repair, and modifications with precision and expertise. Whether it's civilian or military vehicles, you'll inspect and diagnose faults and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in line with skills and competency. You'll also be carrying out equipment examination to meet production requirements.

    What do I need?

    Previous experience in a similar role is essential
    NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair or equivalent qualification is essential
    Proficiency in hydraulics is required
    Experience working in a dealership or local garage is advantageous
    Must be a real team player with the ability to adapt and build rapport.

    The role

    As a Senior Electrical Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be part of a team who are responsible for supporting reactor inspections, including maintaining, using and installing specialist machinery.

    Day-to-day, you'll provide support to the delivery teams including setting to work, scheduling and ensuring health and safety is paramount.

    Production Planning: Follow BS EN ISO 9001 quality system, identify variances, and notify supervision.
    Assembly & Testing: Assemble and test electronic modules, PCBs, and control panels.
    Fault Investigation & Repair: Investigate and repair analogue PCBs and electronics using test equipment.
    Support & Safety: Provide local support for low voltage equipment and serve as Electrical Duty Holder

    This role is full time, 37 hours per week and works across a 4-day work week (Monday - Thursday).

    Essential experience of the Senior Electrical Technician

    Previously worked within a Electrical Technician role, ideally with supervisory experience.
    Nuclear experience is not a requirement however the successful candidate will need to have worked within a highly regulated environment.

    Qualifications for the Senior Electrical Technician

    Relevant electrical qualifications (or considerable experience).
