    We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and expertise in the repair and maintenance of heavy goods vehicles. This role is crucial in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely, providing excellent service to our customers.

    Duties

    Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
    Perform equipment repair, including welding and electrical work as needed.
    Assemble and disassemble vehicle components, ensuring all parts are functioning correctly.
    Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks.
    Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
    Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs and repair status.
    Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the workshop environment.
    Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices as required.

    Requirements

    Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
    Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, electrical systems, assembly, and soldering.
    Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
    Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
    Strong customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction.
    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.

    Deliver loads to customer sites

    Complete relevant paperwork required for each load transferred.
    Occasional yard duties when transport duties are quiet.
