    Rolls-Royce Submarines has a growing user base of over 2500 engineers that rely upon our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capabilities - most notably Teamcenter and NX - to do their job. A project to significantly upgrade these capabilities and move to an Evergreen IT support model has been recently undertaken with further changes and upgrades planned.

    Our Engineering and Technology function is leading Engineering through a Digital Engineering transformation programme. The aim is to transform how we do Engineering, maximising the value of Engineering effort and reducing waste, driving effective automation and leveraging data where its needed. This role will play a key part in that.

    This technical role is customer facing and you are expected to work as part of an integrared team in delivering BI and/or migration and integration solutions based on TcRA and eQube MI products.

    As a TcRA and eQube-MI Developer, you will be responsible for the creation and definition of new solutions using these capabilities, in alignment with an agreed backlog of improvements or requirements. You will work with colleagues within our IT and Digital function, our PLM team, and in time with other teams in Submarines, to refine customer requirements into solutions that encompass all aspects of their design. This includes being aware of load on the environments used to develop them on (impacts to architecture), logical integration design options (when to create a new API or use existing to integrate applications) for machine readable data or a new dashboard or report to provide human readable data. You will work alongside other developers that already exist and help form a user community of like-minded people within the Submarines business.

    You will be joining at a time where the ways of working and operating model behind the use of these capabilities is developing. You will have an opportunity to shape that model and the way we approach the management of these capabilities. There is also increased pull for this capability emerging, which will provide opportunity to be part of a cross business working group as this capability evolves and matures. We have launched IT projects to transform the PLM capabilities to make them more modern and transition to an improvement mindset support model. We need a business focused PLM Support Lead to help.

    The PLM Support Lead role will own the user level engagement into the day to day use of our capabilities, with a focus on getting the best for and from our user engagement. Whether that be connecting users into relevant material and training, supporting them on a specific aspect, helping to coordinate resolution of an issue or providing the voice of the users back into the team.

    You will provide oversight for the execution of PLM processes and capabilities within the business. Within our Engineering IT footprint, there are broader applications that sit outside PLM that we may consider expanding the scope of this role to support.

    What you'll be doing:
    Support Key users and IT team with the resolution of issues. Includes managing problems through the support process as well as clear communication of frequently asked questions or connections into user material
    Support user troubleshooting. Act as the business customer face for the IT support team
    Support in the testing and deployment of continuous improvements and new capability
    Develop and deploy Instructions and Guidance material on the use of Teamcenter and NX. Note our PLM Capability consists of 16 applications working together to deliver overall capability
    Work with the PLM system owner to ensure any problems or suggestions that need a software change to resolve, are adequately road-mapped for resolution
    Confirming suitable key users are in place, are actively engaged in PLM and are true advocates of the system capability being provided
    Audit best practices and guidance material for effectiveness. Manage against a set of defined metrics and act on any compliance findings
    Participate in PLM Capability committee and other user events to disseminate knowledge throughout the user community.

    Experience required for role:
    Experience using Teamcenter and NX,
    Demonstrable experience supporting a user community for a tool would be an advantage,
    Experience of partnering with an IT delivery team to manage resolution of issues would be an advantage,
    Knowledge of Business Change Management Processes (Project, Product and Production)
    Knowledge of IT Change Management Processes
    Experienced in the use of Teamcenter Reporting and analytics, BCT Inspector, Computer Aided Design and Manufacture would be an advantage

    Vetting:
