    Role Purpose
    The Business Information Risk Officer's (BIRO) (Manager grade) role is responsible for leading the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) service to BDO's business streams to effectively manage information security risk. This role will play a key part in ensuring the effectiveness of BDO's information security risk management framework, procedures, and information security control framework.
    The BIRO role is the focal point for effective engagement between business streams and the CISO team. This role will be a trusted adviser to business stakeholders and provide broad knowledge of the firm's security strategies, policies, standards, processes, and road maps to enable streams to understand and meet information security requirements.
    Leading a team of Business Information Risk Analysts and working with nominated information security risk leads in the business, the BIRO will take responsibility for assessing information security risk with the business and ensure that those risks are being managed by the risk owners. Where decisions are made to accept, reduce, share or avoid, the BIRO will ensure appropriate visibility and governance committees are informed.
    The BIRO will also oversee the prioritisation of activities to support business requests and the delivery of other resources supporting risk assessments always ensuring a consistent and high-quality service is being delivered to each business area.
    This role reports to the Cyber Security Manager.

We are seeking to recruit a Manager or Senior Manager to join the Digital Audit Support team within our Audit Quality Department supporting the audit practice. The successful candidate will have significant experience in audit, particularly in controls based and IT auditing, in managing audit and audit-related projects, with exemplary technical skills regarding auditing standards and their practical application including experience in audit reporting matters. The successful candidate will have experience in applying a controls and IT based audit approach and/or will have been involved in preparing methodology and guidance, and advice to audit teams implementing such strategies. Experience with data analytics, SOx (or equivalent) assurance and financial auditing is desirable. As part of the Digital Audit Support team, they will be providing advice and ensuring compliance with ISAs and the firm's audit methodology, particularly as it pertains to controls-based auditing including: Developing and enhancing the firm's approach to controls-based and IT auditing. Monitoring and reacting to the potential development of UK SOx, ISA and regulatory updates, ensuring that the firm's methodologies remain closely aligned to new requirements, developments in good audit practice. Writing and updating relevant guidance and supporting material. Supporting the development and delivery of audit methodology training content. Carrying out targeted file reviews for the purposes of internal quality control or testing. Responding to audit methodology queries from audit staff at all levels (email, telephone or in person). Other ad-hoc quality related assignments, such as regulatory and root cause analysis support. You'll be someone: Significant IT and controls-based external audit experience. As this role will involve training and coaching peers, and will involve reviews of audit files for quality control and testing purposes, experience as external IT audit manager is essential Has extensive experience of the application of IT in business processes related to financial reporting. Has wide-ranging practical experience regarding the application of ISAs and audit methodology. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team and able to use own initiative. High attention to detail. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Experience of training design, development and delivery. Strong problem-solving skills. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work CISA or Chartered Accountant qualifications useful however not mandatory.
