This innovative qualification is designed to immerse students in the craft of photography, with a strong emphasis on:• Hands-on analogue and physical film processes• Experimental techniques• Studio and location-based photography• Digital photography and editing elements• Portfolio development and progression preparationThe programme will build strong practical foundations while equipping learners with the creative and technical skills needed for further study or employment in the creative industries. The course will have strong art and design links to traditional mark-making skills and techniques in sketchbooks and digital formats.As PTVH Tutor you will:• Lead, construct, plan and run the course alongside experienced Learning Assistants and the wider Art & Design team.• Develop schemes of work and project briefs aligned to UAL requirements• Manage assessment, internal verification and student progress• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Art & Design departmentThere may be additional hours available teaching the York School of Art evening class and the A Level Photography programs.About the personThis role requires a proactive individual who can take ownership of the programme and establish a professional, inspiring studio culture.We are looking for a candidate who:• Is subject-qualified in Art & Design / Photography• Has strong industry experience in Photography• Has experience leading, constructing, planning and delivering a course or programme• Is confident teaching both analogue and digital processes• Is committed to delivering high standards of vocational education• Is enthusiastic, organised and passionate about developing creative learners• Works well in a large teamA teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) is desirable.About the CollegeWe are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people.
