These include:57 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures)Generous Occupational Pension SchemeFinancial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) About the roleWe are delighted to offer a new and exciting role within the Inclusive Education curriculum to lead and develop the SEND teaching provision at York College.  This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding Tutor with extensive experience of delivering study programmes to students with SEND/ SEMH to support more students to transition into the wider college community, supported internships, employment or onto apprenticeships. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, learner-focused Tutor to develop and deliver engaging pre-employability programmes of study to students with SEND/ SEMH. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people who face barriers to education, training, or employment, helping them build confidence, essential skills, and positive pathways into work, apprenticeships, or further learning.Key Responsibilities include:Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging employability sessions covering areas such as:o    Workplace behaviours and expectationso    Communication and teamworko    Confidence, motivation, and resilienceo    CV writing, job search skills, and interview preparation Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learner needs, including those with SEND, social/emotional barriers, or low prior attainmentBuild positive, professional relationships with learners to promote attendance, engagement, and progressionMonitor learner progress, set targets, and maintain accurate records in line with funding and quality requirementsWork collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and external support services to support learner outcomesPromote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all timesAbout the PersonThe ideal candidate will be a passionate, innovative and forward-thinking teacher, who is highly motivated to improve the chances of young people, particularly those with SEND/ SEMH and are at risk of disengaging from education or employment. You will create engaging and stimulating learning opportunities for all students through high quality teaching, learning and assessment, adapting your delivery to motivate students with varying needs and confidence levels.
