    Job overview The role of the Lead Clinician is to have responsibility for the clinical leadership, service development, quality, and performance of their specialty. The Lead Clinician provides strategic direction for the specialty and contributes to service planning and clinical governance. They will work closely with their medical colleagues within this specialty and operational and nursing management within the Care Group.  Appointments will normally be made for a period of no less than three years and will be subject to the agreement of the Medical Director. The work of the Lead Clinician will be identified within the individual’s job plan, where responsibility payment and any compensatory reduction in other work will also be made clear.
