Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join a dynamic logistics team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about optimizing transport systems and delivering effective planning solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely deliveries, and improving cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Transport Planning: Develop and implement daily transport plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Route Optimization: Use software tools to plan and optimize routes for both inbound and outbound deliveries, ensuring maximum efficiency.
Fleet Management: Monitor vehicle performance and ensure all fleet operations comply with legal and safety regulations.
Customer Liaison: Communicate with customers to provide updates on delivery status, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor performance metrics, analyze transport data, and produce reports on key KPIs (costs, delivery times, fleet efficiency).
Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with transport regulations, including health and safety and environmental standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including logistics, warehouse, and operations to ensure smooth execution of plans. Key Skills & Experience:
Transport Planning Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in transport planning, logistics, or a related field.
Knowledge of Route Optimization Software: Familiarity with transport planning tools such as Paragon, Transics, or similar platforms is desirable.
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, assess performance, and provide actionable insights.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with both internal teams and external customers.
Attention to Detail: Ability to manage complex transport schedules with a focus on accuracy.
Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Organized and Reliable: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Qualifications:
A degree or equivalent qualification in logistics, transport management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
Knowledge of UK transport regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills. Benefits:
