  • Head of Global Embedded Finance Sales

    - London
Sage is building a global Embedded Finance & Banking Services business... Read More
Sage is building a global Embedded Finance & Banking Services business designed to power Tier‑1 banks, Fintechs, and large SaaS platforms with scalable, API‑driven financial infrastructure.

This role isn't about inheriting a mature sales team. It's about building and owning a global enterprise sales function from the ground up, personally leading complex platform deals, and turning an embedded proposition into a repeatable, predictable revenue engine at global scale.

You'll report to the SVP, Fintech & Embedded Services and sit at the centre of Sage’s embedded growth strategy — combining hands‑on deal leadership with the design of a world‑class enterprise sales operating model.

This role operates at the intersection of banking infrastructure and business software. You’ll be most effective if you bring experience or strong commercial intuition around ERP, accounting, payroll, or financial operations platforms, and how embedded finance capabilities power revenue growth for SaaS businesses. An ability to connect regulated financial products to real operational workflows is essential to winning credibility with senior product, finance, and executive stakeholders.
    What You’ll Own

    1. Build & Lead the Global Embedded Enterprise Sales Function

•Design and own the global enterprise sales strategy for Embedded Finance and Banking‑as‑a‑Service.

    • Build the sales operating model from first principles — segmentation, ICPs, qualification standards, deal governance, and winning playbooks for long‑cycle platform sales.

    • Establish commercial discipline across regions, ensuring consistency in how we sell, forecast, and scale.

This role builds the function, it does not simply manage an existing one.

    2. Personally Lead Sage’s Most Complex Strategic Deals

    • Personally open doors, lead negotiations, and close Sage’s largest and most strategic embedded finance partnerships.

    • Sell into Tier‑1 banks, challenger banks, global fintechs, and major SaaS platforms.

    • Navigate 12–24 month sales cycles, multi‑stakeholder buying groups, and executive / board‑level negotiations.

    • Structure deals that balance commercial upside, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and long‑term economics.

You are expected to be in the deal, not behind it.

    3. Platform, API & Technical Commercial Leadership

    • Lead enterprise sales motions for platform‑level, API‑driven products, not off‑the‑shelf SaaS applications.

    • Confidently engage in technical commercial conversations across APIs, integrations, data flows, and platform architecture.

    • Partner closely with Solutions Engineering, Product, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to land technically and regulatorily sound enterprise partnerships.

    4. Commercial Governance, Forecasting & Performance

    • Own the global enterprise pipeline, forecast accuracy, and performance reporting.

    • Define pricing frameworks, commercial guardrails, and approval models that allow Sage to scale embedded revenue without margin erosion.

    • Implement metrics and dashboards across win rates, cycle time, conversion, and Embedded ARR expansion.

    5. Global Market Expansion

    • Own or materially contribute to enterprise sales across multiple geographies (UK, Europe, US, APAC).

    • Open new markets and new logos — not just manage existing relationships.

    • Navigate the cultural and regulatory nuance of selling regulated financial products internationally.

    What We’re Looking For

This role is intended for a senior enterprise sales leader (Director / VP / SVP / CRO level) with deep experience selling embedded, platform, or infrastructure‑layer financial products.

    You Bring:

    • 10–15+ years of enterprise sales experience, with a significant portion in financial services, fintech, or banking infrastructure.

    • A proven track record selling into Tier‑1 banks ( HSBC, Barclays, JPMorgan, BNP Paribas) or large‑scale fintechs (Stripe, Revolut, Wise, Klarna‑tier).

    • Experience selling platforms, APIs, or infrastructure not just application‑layer SaaS.

    • Comfort operating at C‑suite and board level, negotiating high‑value, multi‑year strategic partnerships.

    • Demonstrated experience building and scaling a sales function including introducing methodology (MEDDIC / Challenger / SPIN), CRM, forecasting, and deal governance.

    • Experience working hand‑in‑hand with Solutions Engineering and Product in highly technical enterprise sales.

    • A global mindset, with experience opening markets across multiple regions.

Your benefits (Only Applicable for UK Based Roles)

    - Benefits video –

    - Generous bonuses and pension scheme: Up to 8% matched pension contribution plus 2% top-up by Sage. 25 days of paid annual leave with the option to buy up to another 5 days

    - Paid 5 days yearly to volunteer through our Sage Foundation

    - Enhanced parental leave

    - Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage

    - Work away scheme for up to 10 weeks a year

    - Access to various helpful memberships for finances, health and wellbeing

Design the architecture that powers global financial ecosystems.

Sage is establishing a global Enterprise Sales Centre of Excellence (CoE) to scale Embedded Services across Tier-1 banks, fintechs, and enterprise SaaS platforms. As the Global Solutions Architect, you are the technical leader behind our most strategic and complex platform engagements.

This is a high-impact role in which you will own the technical narrative. From de-risking integrations and leading high-stakes Proofs of Concept (PoCs), to establishing deep credibility with partner engineering teams and executive stakeholders, you are the bridge between commercial ambition and technical reality.

You won’t simply support deals — you will shape them. You will define the global standards, reference architecture, and technical playbooks that will be deployed across regions and markets, ensuring consistency, scalability, and technical excellence worldwide.

After an initial ramp period, you will hold technical sign-off authority for strategic integrations and PoCs, acting as the ultimate technical decision-maker for our most critical enterprise opportunities.

This is a Hybrid role with three days per week in our Newcastle Office
    What you’ll be doing

•Lead the technical strategy for enterprise Embedded Services engagements across global markets

    • Own and articulate the technical narrative in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles

    • Design and validate scalable, secure integration architectures for Tier-1 banks, fintechs, and SaaS platforms

    • De-risk enterprise integrations through architectural review, discovery, and structured solution design

    • Lead high-stakes Proofs of Concept, ensuring technical viability and commercial alignment

    • Establish deep credibility with partner engineering teams, CTOs, and senior executive stakeholders

    • Define and document global reference architecture, integration standards, and reusable technical playbooks

    • Provide technical governance and sign-off for strategic integrations and PoCs

    • Partner closely with Enterprise Sales, Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to align ambition with execution

    What you bring

    • Extensive experience architecting enterprise-grade integrations or embedded financial platforms

    • Strong understanding of API ecosystems, cloud architecture, security, and scalability considerations

    • Experience working with Tier-1 financial institutions, fintechs, or enterprise SaaS environments

    • Proven ability to operate confidently with senior technical and executive stakeholders

    • Deep technical credibility combined with commercial awareness

    • Ability to translate complex architecture into clear, compelling business narratives

    • Experience leading PoCs and validating integration feasibility in high-value enterprise deals

    • Strategic mindset with the ability to define global standards and frameworks

    Why this role matters

This role sits at the intersection of product, sales, and engineering. It ensures that Sage’s enterprise Embedded Services ambitions are not only commercially compelling but technically world-class.

You will help build the global architecture framework that enables Sage to scale securely and consistently across major financial ecosystems. Your decisions will directly influence enterprise partnerships, global standards, and the long-term credibility of our Embedded Services strategy.

If you are ready to combine deep technical expertise with enterprise commercial impact — and to define the architecture behind global financial partnerships — this is your opportunity to lead at the highest level.
