About the role We are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our growing Wise Platform team in London. The Wise Platform team works with top tier global financial institutions and major tech companies to offer Wise products and services directly to their customers. Through our API , we help partners to architect and build integrations to our world class-leading international finance products, which in turn improves Wise Platform by increasing the capabilities of our public API. This role will facilitate growth, troubleshoot and enhance the product offerings of Wise. What will you be working on? As part of the Wise Platform team, you’ll play a key role in providing technical consulting and product guidance to top tier banks and other partners integrating Wise into their products, primarily in a post-sale capacity. You'll be: Acting as a trusted advisor and conduit between partners and Wise where your technical expertise will enhance the product development and integration process. Defining technical solutions, gathering requirements and supporting the delivery of integrations tailored to each partner’s needs. This involves conducting technical presentations, demonstrations, and answering complex technical questions from potential partners. Optimizing and streamlining internal processes to enhance team capacity and overall efficiency. This includes identifying areas for process improvement, developing and implementing new workflows, and leveraging automation tools to reduce manual tasks and improve turnaround times. Designing and developing innovative new features that expand the functionality of Wise's services and exposing these features through the public API, enabling seamless integration with partner systems and empowering them to leverage the full potential of Wise's platform. Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues within the Wise product stack, providing second-line support to the API support team and ensuring timely resolution of partner inquiries and technical challenges. This requires in-depth knowledge of Wise's systems, debugging skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical information. Serving as the technical lead for complex partnerships, acting as a crucial intermediary between Wise's engineering teams and the partner's technical teams. This involves facilitating communication, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring alignment on technical requirements and solutions. Establishing a robust feedback loop between the partner and Wise's product teams to gather valuable insights and drive continuous product improvements. This includes collecting partner feedback, analyzing usage patterns, and working with product managers to prioritize and implement enhancements that meet partner needs. Position Overview: We are seeking a Software Engineer based in our London office, offering a flexible combination of in-office and remote work. As an integral part of our mission, you work in a team dedicated to launching and optimizing new products, building the most convenient and scalable financial services experience for people and businesses, which is compliant with local regulatory guidelines. How we work We want our product to be instant, so we integrate with the latest technology and local payment rails to make money movement instant and eventually free. We want our product to be convenient, our customers should know what is required from them to use Wise. We also care about effectiveness: only ask from the customer what we really need, easy for them to provide and is effective at stopping fincrime. We want our processes to be scalable. We are working on automating the process for our team, any way we can. We are working with LLMs, building integrations, and working with vendors. This position is responsible for building and managing the infrastructure that enables Wise to send/receive money in MEA markets. Helps Wise’s growth rate by unlocking core functionality through the power of partner APIs and cross-border payments infrastructure - in short, builds products that will help Wise reach consumers and small businesses wherever they are managing their money in global environments. Additionally, responsible for taking part of on-call rotation and providing support to operational teams and support in case of incidents. Making sure that our platform is safe and secure for our customers and available all the time. What will you be working on? You’ll integrate with several local partners and government institutions to power our financial services. You’ll multiply Wise’s growth rate by unlocking core functionality through the power of APIs and cross-border payments infrastructure - in short, the products you build will help Wise reach consumers and small businesses wherever they are managing their money in global environments. You’ll scale a best in class product across MEA while ensuring the learnings you have in-market are shared back with our other global regions. What do you need? We are looking for a Solutions Engineering Lead to join our growing Wise Platform team in London. The Wise Platform team works with top tier global financial institutions and major tech companies to offer Wise products and services directly to their customers. Through our API , we help partners to architect and build integrations to our world class-leading international finance products, which in turn improves Wise Platform by increasing the capabilities of our public API. This role will facilitate growth, troubleshoot and enhance the product offerings of Wise. What will you be working on? As part of the Wise Platform team, you’ll play a key role in providing technical consulting and product guidance to top tier banks and other partners integrating Wise into their products, primarily in a post-sale capacity. Solutions Engineering at Wise is a post sales role, focussed on working with our integrating partners to enable them to successfully launch a product based on Wise’s services. The role is multifaceted but includes providing technical consulting to partners, designing novel solutions to solve for their constraints and working internally to influence the product roadmap. Wise is growing the Solutions Engineering function globally and we are looking for a lead to continue building the team in EMEA and to support new and existing Wisers to achieve their potential. You would work across partners, your own team, Wise Platform and the wider organisation to maximise your team’s impact. Your role in the team: You’ll be responsible for the overall health and productivity of your team. Defining strong, clear goals that align with Wise Platform’s objectives and supporting the team in achieving them. You’ll provide feedback on your team’s approach and help them make data-driven decisions. You’ll have an overview of what’s happening across the organisation and think about how things impact partners, in terms of opportunities and risks. When needed, you’ll roll your sleeves up to be involved in the project delivery process. Qualifications Have previously worked with external parties to deliver technical projects with REST API integrations. Experience building, leading and mentoring driven and a high performing technical delivery team. Experience building and designing scalable and performing systems within a microservice architecture Expert on all things API, such as RESTful design, OpenAPI, OAuth2, versioning, etc. Have a strong product mindset and be able to support others to make the right decisions and compromises. Comfortable working on big challenges and a history of successfully delivering best in class solutions. Experience on managing client relationships and setting accurate expectations …but don’t worry we don’t expect you to know everything!
