    Our main office is in Central Birmingham, and we deliver projects across multiple sectors within the Midlands region. This will be a hybrid role, but an office presence will be required in the lead up to important bid deadlines.
    Within the role you will be responsible for assisting and coordinating proposals teams to produce winning submissions. You will support the submission of consistent, high quality, engaging proposals that delight our customers.
    Key Responsibilities
    Within this role you will be responsible for supporting the win strategy and coordinating the proposal content. The role will involve:

    Assisting with research into appropriate proposal opportunities.
    Overseeing the relevant portals and ensure that submissions are made in line with the required deadlines.
    Acting as a key point of contact for internal teams in relation to creating the correct proposal content.
    Being responsible for coordinating timely responses for proposal content from the relevant people within the business.
    Re-write/edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, ensuring consistency of responses in terms of themes, messages, key phrases and keywords
    Working with colleagues in graphic design to co-ordinate the presentation of the submission.
    Working across multiple projects, supporting multiple teams in the production of quality bids.
    Essential and Desirable Criteria Essential

    You’ll have experience in a Bid Writer, Assistant Submissions Manager or Bid Coordinator role.
    Able to use Microsoft suite of office programmes including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
    Understanding of the different proposal processes.
    Strong written abilities/degree qualification in English or History.

    Desired
    Have or working towards a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualification. 

    APMP membership and accreditation.
    InDesign/Photoshop experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful Senior Site Manager will manage the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality.
    Leadership and people management.

    Undertake the works in the most economical manner to eliminate waste and avoid non-recoverable costs and preliminary losses. Monitor and work to the agreed preliminary budget.
    Maintain continuous professional development to ensure appropriate technical awareness.
    Comply with standard procedures.
    Manage project handover and ensure defect / snag-free completion.
    Support the strategy for the closure of defects during the defects period and obtain a certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set.

    Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects as part of a wider team.
    The ability to read and accurately interpret programmes, drawings and technical specifications.

    The main role of a Proposals Manager at Willmott Dixon is to manage the quality of submissions and actively work with our Project Managers to develop the quality of bids. You will be able to assess technical bid requirements and lead the bid teams to develop a winning solution.
    You will ensure the formal bid process is followed, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
    Through your writing, reviewing and editing of drafts you will ensure our submissions persuasively convey our offer to the customer by communicating key win themes within our responses, ensuring we score highly against the evaluation criteria.
    Working with subject matter experts, you will conceptualise and create visual elements to help tell the story, whilst also contributing to the ‘look and the feel’ of our offering. With a strong awareness of bidding best practice, you will also provide guidance and support to less experienced staff and those from other areas of the business.
    You’ll also support creation of clear and effective customer presentations and provide creative ideas and initiatives for bids. Key Responsibilities Contribute to and create our bid win plan, then consistently communicate this to the team throughout so that the bid is developed in line with the strategy. You will:

    Understand the entire bid submission and lead our approach to align with the 'win plan.'
    Revisit the strategy when needed.
    Be accountable for everything that goes into the bid.
    Define and shape the visual presentation of the submission.
    Support the prepositioning phase by proactively developing early solution concepts that address key customers drivers identified during business development engagements.
    Host lessons learnt workshops after the bid is submitted to capture insight, identify areas for improvement and inform future opportunities

    Make sure all the written content of the bid is clear and compelling by:



    Owning individual answers (planning and scripting).
    Briefing other bid writing contributors.
    Checking the quality of other contributors' work and providing feedback and/or intervening.
    Signing off all the written content before the Director peer review.
    Essential and Desirable Criteria You will ideally have some experience as a Proposal Manager, Submissions Manager, Bid Manager, Tender Manager, or similar role in the construction industry.
    You will be able to lead the creation of our written responses to achieve high quality, winning bids/submissions that meet the requirements and expectations of our customers. You will have good experience of writing and editing tender submissions. Knowledge and experience of the Adobe Suite, particularly InDesign is desirable, but full training will be provided if required.



    Experience of leading answer plan sessions, win theme workshops and managing the tender review process.
    Experience of bid writing and bid editing, creating compelling and persuasive responses.
    Experience of hosting lessons learnt workshops after bid submissions to capture insight, identify areas for improvement and inform future opportunities. You’ll also have experience supporting the prepositioning phase in previous bids.
    Meticulous organisational skills.
    Experience of using Microsoft Office.
    Use of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop desirable.
    UKAPMP membership and certified desirable.

    Construction Estimator Willmott Dixon Construction are looking to recruit an Estimator to join our Midlands region in our Nottingham office, working on a hybrid basis. You will be joining a team who are passionate about their work and share in the continued success of the business.
    The main role of an Estimator at Willmott Dixon is to manage commercial activities with a high degree of acumen whilst identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process. The successful candidate will be able to deliver the right net cost to the highest quality and accuracy.

    In doing so you will price selected trades from first principles using agreed Willmott Dixon outputs. You will also be able to produce a detailed control document at handover to delivery team and complete project take–offs to the required level of detail up to the level of SMM 7 for agreed trades. Key Responsibilities The key duties/ responsibilities will include:



    Ensure that all costs on the project are in accordance with the project scope, the customer’s requirements and current legislation.
    Collaborate with the wider preconstruction team to secure and convert tender projects.
    Create robust accurate cost plans through the various design gateways up to target price.
    Guide the design team and inform the customer with respect to affordability.
    Use technical experience to identify opportunities and risks along with solutions to add value.
    Collaborate with the project team to identify and value alternative design solutions where required and present to the customer for review.
    Support the design discipline by costing change control items as identified and track through the RIBA Stages.
    Complete or manage project take–offs to the required level of detail (SMM7/NRM2/building quants).
    Provide a complete and robust cost information pack during the substantiation process to the commercial build team at handover, to include completed comparisons, bills of quantities, tender book and quotations.
    Lead the procurement schedule and build supply chain interaction and relationships.
    Review the performance of supply chain partners with the operations team.
    Collaborate with the design lead to capture and include design fees in the tender summary book (consultants, statutory authorities, surveys, schedules, and the like).
    Assist in the change control process, identifying design changes between RIBA stages, advising on the impact of the change and approximate cost.
    Carry out cost assessments on alternative design solutions to inform the final design and project/customer budget.
    Make customer insight led and data-driven decisions to provide solutions to customer requirements.
