  • Building Control Surveyor

    Role: Building Safety Consultant (Head of Department) Location: UK Wide Sector: Property & Construction Consultancy Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + annual bonus + attractive benefits package WRG are excited to be supporting an award winning multi-disciplinary property & construction consultancy that operate across the UK. The business has 10 offices dotted throughout England & Wales (you can be based from one of these offices to deliver the new service). The role has been created off the back of the changes happening in the industry related to the Building Safety Regulator, and the business wanting to integrate their PD and Building Safety service offering. They want to help their clients navigate these changes and ensure building regs compliance is achieved on every project. Our client oversees a diverse range of projects in the residential, commercial, retail, office, university, super prime resi, leisure, hotel, industrial, manufacturing, sport and education sectors. The role would suit a Building Control professional or Approved Inspector with several years of experienced in the sector, offering their services to a range of clients and projects. Excellent interpersonal skills are required due to the client facing nature of the role. Our client is also happy to consider people who have not registered with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR). Our client has a vision that the successful applicant will build and develop a team of Building Safety Consultants around them and further grow and develop this new department. It is an exciting role within the industry and you will be at the forefront of our clients new service offering. Duties: Carryout building inspections, site visits, surveys and prepare reports. Offer advice around the Building Safety Act. Liaise with Principal Designer, Principal Contractor and other parties to ensure compliance on projects. Undertake plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval. Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the building process. Attend client and design team meetings to offer professional advice in relation to building regs compliance. Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders. Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation. Requirements: Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management or similar discipline. Membership to RICS, CABE, or CIOB. Experience of inspecting buildings and properties. Excellent knowledge of BSA, building regulations, codes and legislation. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Apply: Salary in the region of £70,000 - £80,000. Familiar with all associated documentation relating to CDM 2015 e.g CPPs, PCIs, H&S file etc. and that the documents are updated on a regular basis. Liaise with various stakeholders on projects client, principal contractor, architect and keep them updated in relation to H&S/ CDM matters. Ensure that RAMS are in place for each project. Carry out site inspections and accident investigations when required. Develop client relationships and build new ones. Requirements: NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General or equivalent. NEBOSH Fire (desirable). NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not essential). Member to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or a similar professional body. Excellent working knowledge of 2015 CDM Regulations.
