     Your New Role...
    Rocksteady is looking for a Lead Technical Animator to join our dedicated and
    collaborative team working on AAA titles.
    The role involves leading, supporting and developing our team of friendly and
    passionate technical animators. You’ll also be applying your technical expertise
    directly by creating rigs, developing pipelines and collaborating with art and
    animation teams to solve all kinds of problems.
    Working closely with a plethora of leads and directors – you’ll be developing
    outstanding art assets with brilliant deformation alongside making easy to use
    tools for gaining efficiency and quality.
     Your Role Accountabilities...Supervise/create high quality character, body and facial rigs.Collaborate with the art and animation teams to assist on technicalchallenges and improve pipelines and processes.Integrate, research and develop new technologies and tools to advance quality, efficiency and adaptability of animation, rigging and art pipelines.Create schedules/roadmaps alongside the production team.Leading and supporting the technical animation team through hiring, mentoring and running 121s/appraisals.Create and manage documentation for tools and processes within animation and asset processes in the studio.Qualifications & Experience...Applicable understanding of anatomy and body mechanics.Relevant rigging/technical animation experience.Strong working knowledge of Python in Maya and coding standards and practices.Engine animation experience (Unity/Unreal).Bonus Points:Experience with gameplay technical animation – such as state machines, cloth, physics and ragdoll setups – particularly in Unreal.Experience with Jira and/or Shotgrid.Experience with Motionbuilder, motionbuilder API and mocap processes.Experience with facial rigging.Programming knowledge such as C++/Maya API & Plugin Writing.Interest and experience with machine learning.Knowledge of vector maths, linear algebra and matrices.Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Studio Tour - The Making Of Harry Potter.The role has frontline Duty Technician responsibilities as and when required in response to the day-to-day technical needs of the attraction. You will also be required to provide the highest levels of customer service to visitors to the attraction and internal customers.This is a twelve-month fixed term contract position.Your Role Accountabilities...Setup, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and control all aspects of industry leading show technology including lighting, sound, video, show control and integrated systems to ensure consistent visitor experienceEnsure all WBSTL technical and exhibition related maintenance requirements are delivered within agreed schedules and standards.Assist with the delivery of live events as and when required.Ensure public and staff safety at all times.Monitor protection of assets and equipment within the tour areas in order to maintain the level of quality, reliability and maximise life span.Comply with internal health and safety regulations and working practices at all times.Maintain good communication channels across all departments including Visitor Experience, Studio Facilities and Corporate Archive.Work as part of a technical project team for themed feature development, installation and maintenance projects as directed by the Technical Services Management team.Contribute to the day-to-day running of the WBSTL and form part of the Visitor Services team covering weekends, evenings and school holidays 363 days a year on a shift pattern involving AM and PM shifts.Qualifications & Experiences...Proven track record in a similar maintenance position, preferably in the entertainment, visitor attraction or service industry.Knowledge of live event production and the relevant audio-visual skills involved in the delivery of such events.Experience of working with installed audio-visual show systems and fault finding and trouble shooting on these as required.Basic carpentry and maintenance skills and a good working knowledge of workshop environments.Previous experience of working in an operational and customer facing environment where there are significant numbers of the general public on site.Proven IT skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated packages.Basic knowledge of I.T switch networks and I.P based control systems.Working PatternThis is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. The role operates on a flexible rota, including a mix of early, mid, and late shifts. Shift times range from 6:30 AM (earliest start) to 10:45 PM (latest finish).
