We are seeking to appoint suitably skilled, motivated and caring Children’s Residential Worker, to work with and support children and young people aged between 5 to 17 years of age. There are times when children and young people in care require additional support to manage complex trauma. Placements of a warm, supportive and have a homely feel are hard to find, and this can result in multiple placement breakdowns before a suitable placement that can contain risk and manage social and emotional needs is found. The result of this leads to young people who are most vulnerable being placed a long way from home and not always achieving the best outcomes. We provide loving homes for children to remain in Wakefield and only receive the best possible care.     Following a re-structure of Wakefield Council’s Property, Facilities, Health & Safety Service, we are seeking to strengthen and increase our capacity to deal with the Council’s ambitious plans to transform and modernise its property portfolio. As part of this, we are now looking to recruit an additional Property Inspector to work alongside the existing and recently appointed Property Inspector in our friendly and well-established Real Estate team. Wakefield district covers approximately square kilometres and is home to around , people. Almost 70% of the Wakefield district is designated as green belt. The City of Wakefield is the largest settlement and the district also includes the towns of Normanton, Pontefract, Featherstone, Castleford, Knottingley, Ossett, Horbury, Hemsworth, South Kirkby and South Elmsall - as well as other smaller settlements. The district is home to several sites of national and international interest including the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Hepworth Gallery and the National Coal Mining Museum. We manage an estate portfolio of over 1, assets and provide a wide range of services covering estate and asset management, Landlord and Tenant matters, valuation, acquisition, disposal and asset review work. The Property Inspectors will focus primarily on undertaking a programme of inspections across the commercial property portfolio to ensure tenants are meeting their repair, maintenance. compliance and other obligations, as well as end of lease inspections. The role will also require some general property management tasks, visiting other non-operational Council assets around the district, taking photos, gathering information, reporting back and some degree of interaction with members of the public. However, the scope will be varied and these roles will suit those with an adaptable and flexible approach. The roles will be office based in Wakefield, but by nature will involve regular site visits and inspections around the district. Therefore, a driving license is a requirement for this role. There is the opportunity for hybrid working. We have comprehensive property information records and systems, a property management database and GIS mapping system, with experienced administrative and technical support.
