The Role As Estimating Manager, you will take responsibility for leading and developing a team of six Estimators, overseeing tenders ranging from £100,000 to £10 million across a diverse portfolio of public sector construction projects.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in securing future projects, improving estimating procedures, and supporting the company's ongoing growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, mentor and develop a team of six Estimators.
Oversee the preparation, review and submission of competitive tenders and estimates.
Ensure all submissions are accurate, commercially robust and delivered within required timescales.
Prepare and review pricing for new-build and refurbishment construction projects.
Analyse tender documentation, specifications and project requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes, systems and efficiencies.
Support tender strategies and contribute to business development initiatives.
Provide commercial insight, reporting and forecasting to senior management.
Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing fluctuations and industry developments.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of both new-build and refurbishment projects .
Previous experience pricing and tendering for public sector projects .
Excellent commercial awareness and cost planning expertise.
Experience leading, mentoring or managing estimating teams.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach with a strong attention to detail.
