Working in out-patients, on the wards and in surgical theatres, making a valuable contribution to the multi-disciplinary team looking after orthopaedic patients. You will work across two hospitals at UHBW, the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) treating our adult patients and at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC). The BRHC is a regional centre for paediatrics, providing specialist orthopaedic service for conditions such as Development Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) as well as being a dedicated paediatric trauma centre for the South West. To be competent in the application, adjustment and removal of all types of casts as prescribed by a clinician. · To participate in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care for the patient who is requiring casting or splinting referring to the clinician as required. · Assess different initial conditions and provide advice to clinicians on appropriate course of action and materials to be used. · Obtains informed consent from patients when carrying out programmes of care. Our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Rapid Access Unit is a dynamic service and we are looking to recruit a Senior Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. We have combined two streams for both haematology and oncology patients in one department. We are a dedicated team of compassionate, skilled professionals looking for a new member of our senior nursing team. You will bring clinical expertise, leadership experience and a real understanding of what good quality care looks like. You will be crucial to maintaining the high standards of care which we are proud of and inspire the nursing team to deliver the best care to our patients. There has never been a more exciting time to come and work on D701 with lots of exciting opportunities. The Same Day Emergency Care is covered 24/7 for our patients' however as a team we currently cover this service between 07.00am and 19.30pm. The Rapid Access service is currently covered between 08.00am - 18.00pm. One Band 6 secondment post for 12 months - 37.5 hours The successful candidate should have significant experience in a relevant specialism. You will be expected to work the full range of shifts including long days, shorter shifts and weekends. This is a part/full time post and flexible working will be considered. Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC): During patients' treatment for cancer or haematological disorders they may develop acute symptoms or complications of their disease and SACT treatment. We have a dedicated phone line for patients to contact, where they are triaged by our medical or nursing team, giving advice over the phone or, if necessary, asking them to come into the unit for further assessment and treatment. Here they are seen by the medical team or one of our Enhanced Practitioners. The SDEC area has space for 7 patients at any one time and we also run a 'Virtual Queue' for our patients when they require assessment but the unit is full to capacity.  Rapid Access: This service is also for both oncology and haematology patients needing urgent treatment, outside of the planned elective pathway. Patients are booked into the clinic at short notice for interventions such as blood transfusions, drainage of ascites, and various intravenous medications. We also provide a procedure list for bone-marrow aspirations. The Rapid Access area has 7 spaces for patients at any one time and a Pentamidine chair. Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) is a modern, well-equipped facility in the heart of historic Bristol. We are seeking to recruit to this permanent, full-time post, an enthusiastic, self-motivated Clinical Technologist to a Band 5 role within the Radiotherapy Treatment Planning team. The successful candidate will have treatment planning experience and will be responsible for producing IMRT, VMAT and SABR radiotherapy treatment plans. They will also assist in radiotherapy equipment dosimetry and quality control.  Applicants should have a level of technical competence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, hardworking and embrace the Trust values. Hours of working will need to be flexible and will reflect the needs of the department. Treatment planning staff have the option of working from home, for up to 40% of their contracted hours, once suitably competent. You will be responsible for producing IMRT, VMAT and SABR radiotherapy treatment plans and will also assist in radiotherapy equipment dosimetry and quality control. Bristol is a large centre with five linear accelerators (including IGRT), delivering IMRT, VMAT and SABR, two dedicated CT scanners, high dose rate brachytherapy, Gamma Knife, RayStation treatment planning system, MOSAIQ oncology information management system and all of the equipment and infrastructure for training that would be expected of a department of this size and complexity. The purpose of the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) and Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC) TYA Cancer Youth Support Coordinator (YSC) is to work as part of the TYA cancer service to provide age appropriate activities and support to facilitate cognitive, social and emotional development and wellbeing of young people with cancer aged 16-24 years.  The role will involve working in adult and TYA specific clinical areas at the Primary Treatment Centre (PTC) in Bristol, as well as some non-hospital settings e.g. for peer support activities. The post holder will work closely with TYA colleagues in the Designated Hospitals across the Southwest region, providing remote support and advice.  The post holder will work Monday to Friday, this may include some evenings. Main Duties and Responsibilities
    • The purpose of the TCT and BWHC TYA Cancer YSC role is to work as part of the TYA Cancer service to provide age appropriate support to young people 16-24 years with cancer, from the point of concern up to two years after their active treatment for cancer has ended.
    • The role will involve working with a range of clinical and non-clinical teams at the PTC, TYA Designated Hospitals and in the community in the Southwest region. 
    • Taking appropriate referrals from clinical staff and identifying appropriate individual, group and peer-support activities to meet the needs of young people.
    • This programme of work will be offered directly, digitally through activities to facilitate cognitive, social and emotional development of the young people, to their benefit and to inform regional and national practice and the work of Teenage Cancer Trust.
    • You will be responsible for the effective collection, management and reporting of accurate and timely data to understand the support needs of young people and how your role fits into meeting these.
    • Work alongside the other members of the TYA specialist team and wider Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) in supporting TYA patients through their transition, into and out of the service.
    • Contribute to the development and use of communication technologies to meet the needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer. UHBW have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Outpatient Receptionist / Administration Assistant. This is a part-time role, working three days a week, 08:30–17:00, based at Weston General Hospital. The successful candidate will be required to cover various outpatient receptions across the hospital, providing a high standard of administrative and front-of-house support to patients and clinical teams. If so, then an opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Cardiac Physiologist to join the Physiology team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UH Bristol & Weston). The role will be based at the Bristol Heart Institute, a purpose built facility for the diagnosis and treatment of Cardiac disease. We are the regional centre of ACHD patients taking referrals from Wales and the South West of England. We provide a full range of invasive cardiology services including 24-hour primary PCI, CTO, Shockwave and Impella cases. Our Devices and EP services include ICD/CRT and leadless implant and follow up, with physiologist-led ILR implant , PVI and VT ablations using all the latest 3D mapping systems. We are a leading centre for TAVI implantation, implantation of Mitra Clip and PFO closure devices. Our Cardiology department currently includes 5 Cardiac catheter labs and one hybrid lab shared with Cardiac Surgery . This is a busy centre, with high case volumes which offers significant opportunity for career development and learning opportunities. We also welcome applications from student Physiologists hoping to qualify in 2025. As a department we support the national programs for STP & HSST trainees, L4 & L6 apprentices. A degree in Clinical physiology, Healthcare Science - Physiological Sciences or equivalent is essential; IBHRE or BHRS accreditation will be a distinct advantage. All applicants must be eligible for UK State registration as a Cardiac Physiologist, through either RCCP, ACHS or via the HCPC register. This position may suit either a newly qualified Cardiac Physiologist or an already established Cardiac Physiologist looking to step up to the challenge of working within a busy tertiary Cardiac Centre. Works independently and unsupervised in all aspects of cardiology both non-invasive and invasive and including on call. This includes the ACHD service and routine electrophysiology studies. As a Specialist Cancer Pharmacist, you will collaborate with experienced Senior Pharmacists across various adult and teenage and young adult (TYA) speciality areas on rotation. This includes providing clinical pharmacy services to oncology, haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) patients, including those treated with Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell therapies (CAR-T). You will also provide aseptic services to patients throughout the Trust. If you have a minimum of 6 months hospital experience and are working towards a post graduate certificate with a keen interest in cancer services, recruitment to a Band 6 to 7 progression post will be considered. As you rotate through specialist areas, you will gain experience of both clinical and aseptic aspects of cancer services.  Main duties include: Provision of clinical pharmacy services to specialist areas including adult and TYA oncology, haematology, BMT, CAR-T and cancer clinical trials. Clinical verification of systemic anticancer therapy prescriptions for adult and TYA patients in outpatient and inpatient settings. Undertaking the role of an authorised pharmacist in the aseptic unit on a sessional basis providing chemotherapy to adult and paediatric patients and parenteral nutrition (PN) to paediatrics and neonates. Involvement with service developments, collaborating with senior pharmacists as well as engaging with other healthcare professionals including medical and nursing staff. Assisting with audit, teaching, and supervision activities as appropriate. We are committed to comprehensive patient care, so this role involves participation in other parts of the pharmacy service when required. This includes weekend commitment either to chemo on-call or BHOC clinical service; late duties; bank holidays; and participation in the pharmacist emergency duty service for the Trust.
