    Uniper are looking for a curious and motivated student to join our Energy Asset Strategy & Valuation Team for a 12-month undergraduate placement. Your responsibilities Learn about Energy Markets and help shape how Uniper manages its operational asset portfolio by supporting the development and implementation of asset strategies. Explore market trends and regulations: evaluate opportunities and risks that emerge because of changing market conditions, customer needs or policy landscape. Contribute to business cases for technical upgrades, commercial improvements and investment decisions by evaluating potential benefits and drawbacks from identified technical or contractual options. Assist in structuring and managing projects, helping teams stay organised and deliver strategic projects Your profile Essential You are currently studying for a university degree in engineering and/or business, economics or finance You have a basic knowledge of power stations and energy markets and are curious to learn more You are quick to learn and able to work under your own initiative following an initial induction/training package You can be located near our base in Nottingham or Birmingham You are proficient with Microsoft Office tools

This role offers you the opportunity to work alongside a team of fellow technical, environmental and engineering specialists to support Uniper's net zero commitments across our international portfolio of projects, whilst growing your own skills and experience at the same time. Your responsibilities The Environmental Services team is active in a variety of new low carbon energy projects as well as supporting existing operations across our sites. You will work closely alongside scientists and engineers on a range of activities which may include: Supporting the implementation of innovative solutions and new technologies to help deliver Uniper’s decarbonisation goals Running dispersion models to assess impacts of power station emissions on air quality and analysing the results Monitoring of air quality, noise and bore-hole water in the vicinity of power stations. Providing planning and permitting support for the development of new sites Assessing costs and benefits of new and emerging generation and decarbonisation technologies Reviewing new environmental legislation to determine the implications for the energy sector This Placement opportunity will allow you to experience working in many of these areas and to understand the environmental and engineering considerations and issues that are key components of an energy business.     Engineering Undergraduate - Project Development An exciting opportunity to join an energetic team of engineers and project managers who lead Uniper's plant improvement, sustainability and decarbonisation activities for its existing European power station assets. An invaluable undergraduate placement experience to build a platform for a career in the Energy Industry. Your responsibilities We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable student to join us for a 48-52 week placement starting from Summer/Sept 2026. You will be an active member of the project development team to progress technical improvement projects for our assets. These projects will enhance performance of our current plants and identify sustainability & decarbonisation solutions including hydrogen fired gas turbines, fuel switch to low carbon sources and emerging low carbon technologies. You will gain experience in project management techniques and build engineering knowledge in a variety of disciplines. Decarbonisation of our assets is central to Uniper’s new strategy, and we aim to be carbon neutral by 2040 and to reduce our 2030 emissions by 55% compared to 2019 levels. The Team plays a critical role in developing options to transform the asset business to become more sustainable. Your profile Essential Ability to learn quickly and work with others in a fast-moving small team of project management engineers. Currently studying/working towards a relevant discipline for the energy industry including but not limited to engineering, science, energy management, etc. Be able to be located near to our base in Nottingham. Ability to work on own initiative once training/inductions are completed. Desirable: Business fluency in English, other languages beneficial. Willingness to travel to Power Station sites and offices in the UK, Germany, Sweden and Netherlands as required. Proficiency in standard Microsoft tools such as Teams, PowerPoint, Excel etc. Understanding of fundamentals of power generation and decarbonisation technology. Project management experience.
