    Essential• You will be educated to a Higher National Diploma or Degree level in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline, supported with a technical knowledge of engineering, project management and maintenance practices gained through experience.• You will be able to apply your working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and standards to IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH Certificate level or recognised equivalent in a practical manner.• Your knowledge and applied experience of industrial process plant mechanical engineering, including pressure systems, will support good maintenance practices and risk management.• You will have an understanding of complex process system operations, knowledge of current regulations and policies which affect the management and operations of process plant engineering assets.• You will have the ability to investigate issues, determine root cause and apply engineering resolutions to mechanically related process systems, demonstrating compliance to change management processes.• You will have knowledge, understanding and be able to demonstrate the application of project management tools and techniques.• Your organisational, contract and project management skills enable you to run contracts within a project which involve on/off site working to include the health, safety, environmental and quality aspects as well as the commercial and technical issues.• Your strong interpersonal skills will enable effective working relationships within the team, across business functions and with senior stakeholders.• Your communication, planning and organisational skills will enable effective task prioritisation and resource management.• Full UK driving license.     Essential• Experience of working within a safe system of work (SSOW)• Is able to understand and interpret P&ID’s, instrument loop diagrams and electrical drawings in order to design safe isolations• Be methodical in your approach to work and have a strong attention to detail• Ability to work within, and promote an excellent safety culture.• Able to plan, prioritise and independently deliver planned and outage work at site• Be flexible in your approach to work and working times (this is primarily a Mon – Fri job but it will require early starts and late finishes along with some weekend working to accommodate plant maintenance activities/breakdowns)• Can work independently, and within a team with excellent communication skills• Willingness to develop themselves and the wider business personnel• Confidence to challenge established practices and procedures in a constructive manner• Proficient IT skills Desirable:• Previous experience in preparation and issue of safety documentation• Electrical or control and instrumentation trade background• Previous experience in the isolating electrical systems or a working knowledge of reading electrical line diagrams and control and instrument loop diagrams• Experience in computerised maintenance management systems (SAP PM/Merlin etc)• Previous experience in the petro-chem/oil and gas, or similar industries• Proficient IT skills• Previous SAP experience is an advantage but not strictly necessary.
