About the Role
As a Technical Assessor, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for evaluating medical laboratories and POCT services to ensure compliance with ISO 15189:2022 standards. In this role, you will:
Observe and assess immunology-specific tests conducted in laboratories. Review examination records, reports, and lab procedures, providing detailed feedback on staff competency and compliance. Examine essential laboratory documentation and records to confirm system implementation, focusing on competency records, EQA/IQC processes, and critical validation and verification records for immunology testing.
Your insights will play a key role in helping laboratories uphold exceptional standards of accuracy, reliability, and compliance in immunology.
Key Competencies:
Experience in providing specialist clinical care for patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency, autoimmune conditions, and allergic diseases. Significant experience in a clinical laboratory environment and/or delivering a clinical reporting service. Registration with a relevant professional body (desirable). Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management, and clients at all levels.
Required Skills:
Familiarity with ISO 15189 (2012 or 2022 versions); full training will be provided. Some experience in internal or external auditing.

We are seeking an experienced External Technical Assessor with a strong background in asbestos testing and inspection.
As an External Technical Assessor, you will play a pivotal role in the UKAS assessment process, offering invaluable expertise essential for rigorous assessments in the asbestos sector.
Key Skills and Requirements:
Qualifications: Ideally, you will hold the BOHS Certificate of Competence in Asbestos (CoCA) or have completed most of the P401–P408 certifications. Equivalent qualifications will also be considered. Experience: Proven expertise in asbestos testing and/or inspection activities. Auditing: Experience in internal or external auditing, particularly to ISO/IEC17025 and ISO/IEC17020 standards, is desirable, although full training will be provided. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication abilities, enabling you to effectively liaise with testing and inspection personnel, senior management teams, and clients at all levels.
Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of asbestos products, including their location, use, and condition assessment. Familiarity with sample handling, preparation techniques, and analysis methods (optical and/or electron microscopy) for asbestos fibres in bulk materials. Knowledge of AIMS, RICE, and other relevant Proficiency Testing Schemes. General knowledge of the homogeneity of products, appropriate sampling strategies, and associated health and safety considerations. Insight into asbestos survey processes, including survey planning, resourcing, technical specifications, quality control, and reporting. Familiarity with current asbestos regulations, codes of practice, and guidance, including the Analysts' Guide (HSG 248) and relevant MDHS documents.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Assessor to support the ISO/IEC 17065 Certification of Competent Person Schemes. This contract role offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to high standards in certification and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments for Competent Person Schemes in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065 and UKAS accreditation requirements. Evaluate compliance with Building Regulations and associated Approved Documents. Assess technical competence in accordance with MHCLG conditions of authorisation. Review technical documentation, policies, and procedures relevant to Competent Person Schemes. Assess product approval processes, UKCA, CE marking, and compliance with Regulation 7 of the Building Regulations. Provide clear and structured reports on assessments.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Proven in-depth industry experience demonstrating relevant skills and knowledge of the construction industry or related discipline at a technical management level. Experience with Building Control work and notification under the Building Regulations. Strong understanding of the Building Regulations, particularly Part 5 and Schedule 3. Familiarity with Competent Person Schemes and their role in self-certification. Knowledge of product certification schemes, CE marking, and UKAS assessment processes. Knowledge of and the ability to assess Minimum Technical Competence (MTC) criteria for installation work. Excellent report writing, analytical, and documentation skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Consideration may also be given to candidates with substantial practical experience in SAR testing, even if formal academic qualifications are lower.
Experience: Extensive theoretical and practical expertise in Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing processes, protocols, and methodologies. A strong understanding of RF energy absorption principles and the associated health and safety implications. In-depth knowledge of the national and international standards governing SAR testing, including ISO/IEC 17025. Awareness of global forums, regulatory developments, and industry trends influencing SAR testing standards and practices.
