    Facilities Engineer/Manager, Condition Survey North East | 2 month Contract | September Start We are working with a leading property consultancy to recruit M&E Asset Surveyors for a major healthcare surveying programme within the North East This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term contract delivering Mechanical & Electrical asset verification and condition surveys across a healthcare portfolio. The survey data collected will support asset management, lifecycle planning and future capital investment programmes. The Role You will be responsible for carrying out Mechanical & Electrical asset verification and condition surveys across a healthcare site, identifying and recording M&E assets while assessing their condition and remaining lifecycle. Working independently across multiple sites, you'll ensure survey information is captured accurately using digital asset management software. Key Responsibilities Conduct Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) asset verification and stock condition surveys across a healthcare site. Undertake visual inspections and condition assessments of M&E building services, plant and equipment. Identify, verify and record M&E assets, including HVAC, electrical systems, mechanical services, public health systems and associated building services. Capture asset information and condition data using tablet-based surveying software and asset management systems. Assess asset condition, remaining life expectancy and maintenance requirements in line with client specifications. Produce accurate asset registers and survey data to support lifecycle replacement planning and asset management strategies. Liaise with project managers, client representatives and wider project teams throughout survey delivery. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and quality management procedures while working within occupied school environments. Deliver surveys independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail. About You We're looking for candidates with a solid background in Mechanical or Electrical building services who have a good understanding of building services assets and maintenance. Previous asset surveying experience is beneficial but not essential. You will have: A background in either Mechanical or Electrical building services, facilities management or building maintenance. A good understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems within commercial or public sector buildings. Working knowledge of CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) systems and asset management principles. An understanding of SFG20 planned maintenance standards and lifecycle asset management. The ability to identify, verify and accurately record M&E assets. Experience using tablets or digital data capture systems. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to data collection. Key Responsibilities Deliver a wide range of Building Surveying and Project Management commissions. Manage client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat business and new work. Undertake building, condition and measured surveys. Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation. Administer building contracts and act as Contract Administrator.
