    As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will:

    Provide senior clinical leadership across a busy Emergency Department, caring for 76,000 patients annually

    Triple West Medical are currently working with a NHS Trust to appoint an enthusiastic experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to the role of Clinical Director who will lead the department to the next level of performance. The ED Consultant role is substantive and the Clinical Director role has a 3 year tenure.

    The Trust have over 10,000 staff offering comprehensive range of acute and community services over a number of sites to over 1 million people. You will have excellent clinical skills and the ability to lead on the shop floor. You will be expected to be active in the teaching and supervision of all multi-disciplinary staff.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    The department provides a comprehensive outpatient specialist service for patients with non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions and connective tissue diseases. In addition to general adult rheumatology clinics, there are regular specialist clinics including early inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis annual review and combined consultant clinics with Dermatology and Paediatrics.     Duties / Responsibilities

    The Trust provides services across multiple sites to a population of over 400,000. The Ideal candidate would have general gastroenterology and endoscopy skills. Expertise in other sub-specialty interests is encouraged. This could include hepatology, nutrition, ERCP, EUS, capsule endoscopy, GI physiology, IBD or therapeutic endoscopy. The post-holder will be expected to provide a clinical service in the relevant specialty to patients and work within multi-disciplinary teams in providing high quality clinical care.

    Brief Duties/Responsibilities:

    - Multidisciplinary team working is key component of the working within the Trust and involves regular MDT discussions with colleagues
    - Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting
    - Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care (with secretarial support)
    - Development of sub specialty interests that fit in with Division needs and the strategic direction of the Trust

    You will be joining the interventional cardiology team at the main site, consisting of 6 full time and 1 part time consultants. The successful applicant with suitable experience will be able to join the TAVI team full time to facilitate a planned business case approved expansion in TAVI - aiming to increase our procedural volume to >220 cases per year. The team currently comprises 4 interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeon, and a full MDT. They have dedicated interventional trainees and two nurse case managers that support the service.

    The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties whilst working here. These include: Participate in the primary PCI and acute interventional cardiology on-call rota, with an expected frequency of 1:6.5, Provide, along with consultant colleagues a specialty service to the regional network and trust, having responsibility for the diagnosis and management of all aspects of patients requiring TAVI, Participate in the general cardiology acute admissions rota, Actively engage in the academic and teaching sessions of the department in cardiology including catheter lab based teaching of SpRs in training & Participate in and contribute to Clinical Audit and research and in the management and development of the service.

    They are one of the largest NHS Trusts in the region providing acute and community services and cover a population of over 850,000 with over 7,500 staff over 2 main sites The department have an active interest in clinical research working with the local university and are now seeking a new member to join their team.

    The job plan is expected to contain 10 PA's, 8.5 PA's of direct clinical care and 1.5 SPA's per week. You will be required to complete 8 sessions at the main Hospital site and 2 sessions at the other site (TBC and willing to discuss).
