    Note: By applying to this position, your application is automatically submitted to our Summer Internship Program openings in over 150 locations throughout the TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Geo-Environmental Interns for our Summer 2026 intern program out of our Manchester or Bristol, UK Office.The UK team serves a global client-base and a broad range of project areas, with access to market-leading technical expertise in both the UK and US. The UK team is based in London, Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow. The internship is based in the Manchester or Bristol office, with opportunities to travel and work with the entire UK team. TRC runs the highly successful Student Training and Enrichment Program (STEP) every summer in the US, and in 2021, we expanded the internship program to the UK. After successful programs in the following years, we’re excited to run it again in the UK in 2026. We are looking for interns
    to join our dynamic team for a period of ten to twelve weeks – the start date is negotiable but will likely be mid to late-May 2026. The ideal candidates should be passionate about the environment, self-motivated, enthusiastic, eager to learn and contribute. This role involves working within an exciting, fast-paced and rapidly growing business. A full driving licence is essential, as fieldwork and regular site visits are a key component of the internship.
    Responsibilities

    During your time with us we’d like you to get involved in and gain as broad an understanding as possible of the work we do at TRC. This would involve supporting on project work from the office and going out with members of the team on site (site walkovers, ground investigations, groundwater and ground gas monitoring). Fieldwork will be a major focus, and you can expect to spend a significant portion of your time out in the field (dependent on project workloads). If there are periods when there is no project work to be done, then relevant research and / or self-directed study, or specialist software training would be undertaken. Overall, our aim is for you to feel involved, engaged, stimulated and challenged, whilst gaining valuable and practical work

We are seeking a Principal Consultant - Operational Technology Delivery for Operational Technologies including Energy Management System (EMS) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) to join our TRC Intelligent Grid Solutions team. TRC Digital, a business unit within TRC, delivers IT/OT expertise and solutions to best address our client needs and has a proven track record supporting utilities in the deployment of complex operational technologies. We have broad capabilities for IT/OT project delivery while being highly specialized to meet the needs of each individual client. We are the trusted advisor and implementation partner for electric and gas utilities undergoing digital transformation and can offer deep experience across utility OT systems.The Principal Consultant – Operational Technology Delivery will be an essential part of our team to grow the consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain and help build a delivery team of the future. The Principal Consultant - Operational Technology Delivery must have in-depth knowledge with any of the major EMS, SCADA, ADMS systems including: OSII, GE, ABB, Schneider, and Siemens. The Principal Consultant – Operational Technology Delivery must have in-depth knowledge of EMS applications, SCADA protocols including ICCP and IEC 80870-5-104 and 101 and highly redundant multi-site configurations.
    Responsibilities

    Working closely with the end Customer, vendors, and project personnel, the Principal Consultant - Operational Technology Delivery is responsible for ensuring the proper implementation and delivery of a new Advanced Distribution Management System, including the Outage Management System (OMS) and Historian system, and a new Energy Management System within our Client’s territory. You will have responsibility for all aspects of the project over the entire project lifecycle including responsibility for assembling and managing the delivery teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, setting up and managing the Vendors and Subcontractors engagements, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of the project. In addition, you must exercise/demonstrate judgement, leadership, organization, and communication skills.Specific Responsibilities Include:Support the business to help Develop, Build, and eventually Manage, OT Delivery SME’s, while being a leader in projectsProvide SME expertise in OT Systems Provide SME expertise in private multi-site high availability and redundant telecoms infrastructure Deliver project(s) to completion. You must support or act as Project Manager to own delivery of the scope, cost, schedule, and risks for the project and manage multiple tracks, business and technical resources, consultants and vendors contracted to deliver solutions.Development of contractual Statement of Works with Client and Suppliers articulating precise assumptions and limit of responsibilities Work with Project Managers to strategize and implement methodology to increase project margins. You will be TRC’s representative, ensuring that the Client and TRCs interests are well aligned for the success of the project. Manage the Vendors, ensuring that the Contractual, operational and relationship aspects are well aligned for the success of the project. Acting as a champion to foster a positive project work environment; and successfully lead the team to accomplish all the project objectives on time and on budget. Develop the workflow plans to manage the project from initial request through systems analysis, technical design, implementation, procurement, testing, turnover to production and client migration. Plan, prepare, and track project schedules and budgets to assure controlled completion of each project step. Prepare and maintain a risk assessment and mitigation action plan. Maintain resource forecasts to ensure that schedule compliance and desired results are achieved. Update the company and external stakeholders on project progress, changes from original plans, and existing or emerging risks.Lead the project core team meetings Present project progress at Steering Committee level with participation of senior executives from TRC or from the Client 
    Qualifications

    Minimum of 14 years of OT Delivery and Support experience in the utility domain Minimum of 14 years of Project Management experience in the utility domain Previous experience in managing large technical teams Previous experience in managing vendors.Previous experience leading and managing large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Operational Technologies Projects in an electric or gas utility environment. The successful candidate will be fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the project management Body of Knowledge Excellent organizational, decision making and presentation skills. Excellent communication skills ranging from C-Level to multiple technical teams. Ability to direct and work independently as well as in a team environment. Excellent team building and motivational skills. Excellent budgeting and financial skills Proficiency with MS-Project and with MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word Must have strong judgement, leadership, organization, and communication skills.Ability to travel up to 50% or on an as needed basis to the client location.Preferred Skills and Experience:Previous experience implementing large SCADA, ADMS programs, preferably on the technology vendor side. PMP Certification Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition.
