    TidalSense is a respiratory technology company with a mission to transform the diagnosis, monitoring and management of chronic respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD. The company has ambitions to enable a population-scale change in respiratory care through global deployment of its technologies. TidalSense has launched the first-of-its-kind AI-driven (software medical device) diagnostic test for COPD which uses the company’s unique, patented, sensor technology embedded in the N-Tidal Handset medical device. We are seeking a Management Accountant with strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills. We are at an exciting phase in our journey as we transition from a start-up to a scale-up. You will be joining a passionate, socially-motivated and multi-disciplinary team covering engineers, scientists, clinicians, designers, product and usability specialists. This is a unique opportunity for a driven and autonomous individual to support and develop our management accounting and finance driven processes, providing vital support as we commercialise our medical devices and scale the business to deliver impact in the real world and change people’s lives. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile, and diverse team environment, and who is also committed to our mission to revolutionise respiratory medicinePlease note this role is part-time: 24 hours per week. Job PurposeTo play a key role in shaping the company’s financial health and operational efficiency. To execute budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost analysis, helping the leadership team make data-driven decisions. To collate management accounts, and grant and CSR reporting, ensuring the business is compliant with our legal and contractual obligations.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesAccountable for executing key management accounting tasks, including:Running the sales ledger ensuring customers are billed promptly in accordance with internal procedures and credit terms are adhered to Managing the purchase ledger and outsourced bookkeepers ensuring payments are made efficiently and smooth running of the ledger Ensuring the trial balance and associated reporting is updated on a monthly basis including monthly accruals and prepayments schedules and other balance sheet reconciliations  Assisting with monthly payrollPreparing monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance analysesSupporting the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecastingProviding monthly reports to heads of departments tracking expenditure against budgetSupporting development and refining of financial models to evaluate business performance and new initiativesOther adhoc finance and admin tasks as requiredDelivering financial reporting to ensure legal and contractual compliance, including:Maintaining accurate and timely financial records in accordance with accounting standardsSupporting the year-end reporting including the provision of information for the external audit, statutory accounts and corporation tax returnPreparing management reports, KPI dashboards, and board presentationsAssisting with external audits and grant reportingAssisting with investor queries and reporting, including CSR reportingSupporting process improvement within the Finance function, including:Supporting implementation of scalable financial systems and reporting toolsStreamlining accounting workflows and strengthening internal controls Requirements Skills & CompetenciesEssential: Strong analytical and Excel skills, including financial modelling skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsResilience and flexibility to work in a busy and changing / dynamic environment with ability to deal with workload peaks and troughsAbility to multi-task, organise, and prioritise workPro-active with effective organisational skills and priority setting Knowledge of UK VATFamiliar with using generative AI tools (in work or personal context), preferably working with AI agent workflows Desirable: Experience in a medtech or startup environmentExperience in a manufacturing companyKnowledge of R&D tax credits, grant funding, and medical device regulatory environments Qualifications & Experience Essential:ACA / ACCA / CIMA (qualified or part-qualified) or equivalent professional certification3+ years of experience in management accountingDesirable:Experience with Xero and ApprovalMax Experience working in an early-stage or growth phase company  Other Requirements Legally eligible to work in the UK without sponsorshipWill need to be able to work in person in the Cambridge office at least 60% of working hours Note to Applicants We read all applications carefully - including your free-text answers - in evaluating your application.
