    We're looking for a Facilities Co-ordinator with the skills to keep Biddulph Grange Garden in tiptop condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit and love the place.Salary: 13.25 per hourThis role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 933 hours per year. Generally, you'll work every other weekend and days in the week starting at 8am.For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

    What it's like to work here

    Working in a team of 2 staff and a small team of volunteers, you'll be carrying out varied tasks from daily housekeeping to caring for our collection. A typical day would include walking the garden and opening up internal gates and doors ready for the day, cleaning the toilets, emptying bins and getting other areas clean and tidy, followed by an hour of conservation cleaning of some of our collection items. You may be asked to give demonstrations of conservation cleaning to the public from time to time. You'll be required to open the property in the morning and the role may include lone working. 

    What you'll be doing

    As the Facilities Co-ordinator, you’ll be making sure that Biddulph Grange Garden operates as it should, by running an efficient, effective and flexible facilities service. You’ll help the property team to meet their goals by keeping standards high. You’ll be helping with maintenance and repairs (reactive, as well as planned and preventative), cleaning and caretaking, the presentation of public areas and visitor facilities (including car parks and grounds), preparing meeting rooms and co-ordinating deliveries and collections.You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached.     What it's like to work here

    This role is based on the Farne Islands. The wider Ranger team includes seven Assistant Rangers, five Rangers and two Area Rangers, where you will report to the Ranger/Area Ranger.

    What you'll be doing

    As Assistant Ranger, you’ll undertake different task in countryside management. This will include nature conservation working to make habitats better for wildlife, site inspections, routine practical maintenance, monitoring of wildlife habitats, supporting volunteers, and helping to deliver activities that strengthen people’s connections with the outdoors.

    What you'll be doing

We’d also like you to keep an eye out for anything that’s not as it should be, and report any repairs or odd jobs that need doing.     What you'll be doing

    You’ll help with the day-to-day maintenance of the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces. You’ll be turning your hand to all sorts of jobs including looking after our biomass boilers, completing monthly equipment compliance checks and minor bits of maintenance, making sure that all our facilities are kept in good working order. From time to time, you'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries, moving barriers or lifting a manhole cover.Duties such as regular cleaning of gutters and gullies, identifying and resolving basic maintenance jobs and working as part of a team on larger maintenance tasks form a core part of this role. You’ll be aiming for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after, and this includes speaking to people as they visit and helping them with any queries.     What you'll be doing

    As the Area Ranger, you’ll be managing a small team of rangers working across several different National Trust sites. As you develop a flexible and effective programme of work for your team, you’ll be guided both by business needs and by the Trust’s strategy for restoring nature and enabling everyone to enjoy the countryside. Your role is crucial in meeting the Trust’s high standards of presentation and property maintenance. You’ll build strong and positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, tenants and neighbouring land managers. You’ll introduce a wide variety of people to the importance of your nature conservation work through events, guided walks and engaging the local community.
