    We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Transport Shift Manager to oversee night operations within our transportation department. This is a key leadership role within our logistics operation, responsible for managing the transport function during night shifts and ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of our service.The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen focus on safety and operational excellence. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team and contribute to the smooth functioning of our Bicester Depot during overnight hours. Working on a 4 nights on/ 4 nights off patternDutiesSupervise and coordinate night shift transportation activities, ensuring all operations adhere to company policies and safety standards.Manage daily scheduling, routing, and dispatching of drivers and vehicles to meet delivery deadlines.Monitor driver performance, conduct regular safety checks, and provide coaching or corrective actions as needed.Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including vehicle maintenance and driver hours of service.Oversee incident reporting, investigate any safety or operational issues that arise during the shift.Maintain accurate records of shift activities, vehicle logs, and incident reports for compliance purposes.Lead team meetings, provide training opportunities, and foster a positive work environment focused on safety and teamwork.QualificationsProven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination, preferably in a night-shift environment.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of drivers and support staff.Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in scheduling and record-keeping.Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and vehicle maintenance standards.Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, other departments, and external partners.Previous experience with fleet management software and familiarity with route optimisation tools.A valid driver’s license is required- and National and/or International CPCThis role is essential for maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability during our night operations.
