    Together with the Catering team we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Head Pastry Chef. This opportunity may also appeal to a Senior Pastry Chef looking for the next opportunity to advance their career. Boasting a Head Chef who has represented the UK as part of National Culinary Team, the client is renowned for its excellent food. The catering team provides high quality dining and an efficient and professional standard of service to members and external clients. Food service ranges from high volume cafeteria-style service to fine dining. Made up of 2 teams of 4 chefs working opposite shift patterns (including split shift working), the team is close-knit and supportive. Workload varies throughout the academic year and during holiday times, when conferences, weddings and special events are hosted. Personal and professional development are a priority, enabling employees to flourish. Participation in various competitive catering events both locally and nationally is encouraged and supported.

    The successful candidate will have a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cookery, be able to produce a range of food catering to all levels and be experienced in high quality catering in patisserie. Alongside a professional, flexible and team-oriented approach, a passion for food and cookery and a working knowledge of food law and allergen information is essential. This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, including some evening and alternate weekends on a rota basis.

    • Conduct regular preventative maintenance visits to ensure reliable equipment performance.
