Interim Deputy Headteacher – Behaviour, Attitudes and Attendance – Secondary School
This dynamic secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy Headteacher to take strategic responsibility for behaviour, attitudes, and attendance. This is a high-impact leadership role within a school led by an outstanding Headteacher, supported by a strong and established middle leadership team, and benefiting from excellent facilities and a positive learning environment.
This role requires a Deputy Headteacher with proven experience leading on behaviour and attendance at whole-school level. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, supporting staff, and ensuring students are fully engaged, supported, and meeting expectations around conduct and attendance. This role requires a Deputy Headteacher who is available to start ASAP pending compliance and references.
Job Role:
Leading whole-school behaviour, attitudes, and attendance strategiesDriving sustained improvements in attendance and punctualityEnsuring consistent implementation of behaviour policies across the schoolSupporting and line managing pastoral leaders and middle leadersUsing data to identify trends, target interventions, and measure impactWorking closely with the Headteacher and SLT on whole-school prioritiesLiaising with parents, external agencies, and local authorities where requiredContributing to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing strategiesThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
