    An Alternative Provision in East Birmingham is seeking an experienced and inspirational Vocational Studies Teacher to join their team, teaching small classes of students with SEMH needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a Vocational Studies Teacher who is passionate about engaging young people who have faced barriers to education and helping them develop practical skills for the future.

    As a Vocational Studies Teacher, you will deliver hands-on, engaging lessons to small groups, supporting students to build confidence, resilience, and employability skills. Students may present with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and gaps in learning, so strong behaviour management and the ability to build positive relationships are essential. You will be part of a supportive staff team with a clear structure and strong leadership in place.

    Job role:
    Teaching vocational subjects to small classes of students with SEMH needsPlanning and delivering practical, engaging lessons that meet individual needsSupporting students to develop life skills, employability skills, and independenceManaging behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policiesWorking closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and leadershipMonitoring progress and adapting learning to support re-engagement with educationThe ideal candidate will have:
