QA Technician
We have a fantastic opportunity for a QA Technician to join our team in Nottingham.

Location: Nottingham, Riverside Bakery
Working Hours: Wednesday – Saturday: 40 hours per week
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Job Purpose
To provide professional and effective support to the factory in relation to technical and quality issues. To drive a high level of food safety and GMP standards within the factory environment. Develop an effective and harmonious relationship with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
To carry out key tasks in line with business requirements to ensure quality systems are compiled with.
Key Duties:
Maintain & enhance relationships with all departments, fostering teamwork and effective communication.
Conduct daily factory walk rounds, working closely with the operations team to meet and maintain high GMP standards. This includes performing in-depth hygiene inspections on equipment, leading to improved factory standards and valuable feedback from the operations team.
To support the production teams and other departmental functions in resolving quality issues. Detailed investigations crucial for timely issue closure and a reduction in quality incidents
Carry out daily taste panels as part of reviewing the quality of products
Taste panels carried out on time
Products reviewed prior to panels and issues feedback to operations team as necessary
Carry out routine tasks such as swabbing, air plates and product sampling in line with schedules in place, send to Lab and investigate OOS results
Carry out Pre Despatch Verification (PDV) checks
Support the investigation into customer complaints including ability to carry our full traceability exercises
Support on site audits by third parties
Carry out temperature monitoring and measurement for onsite temperature systems as required
Carry out scheduled calibration checks e.g. scales, belts etc
Carry out and report scheduled internal audits and close of corrective actions
Pick up ad hoc tasks and requests through the technical management team e.g. traceability exercises, investigations
Pick up ad hoc projects as requested and take part in project teams
Support NPD and commercial in new launches through line set ups for labelling, coding, X rays, check weigher, Metal detection
Champion a health and safety culture to meet all requirements across the site. Promote safe working practices ensuring safety during packaging trials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Previous QA experience in a food production facility
Ability to use computer programmes including word, excel and related technical IT packages
Allergen awareness-implications
Food Safety Level 2
Good communicator
