    As a P6 Planner, your role will be instrumental with supporting the planning team in the development and execution of energy type projects ranging from substation schemes to cable route schemes. The programmes you work on will run through different stages of the project lifecycle ranging from Preconstruction through to Handover.Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:
    • Supporting the PMO team with developing and updating accurate programmes / schedules in accordance with business and contractual requirements. All programmes must be produced with high quality to ensure all programmes are clearly understandable.
    • Able to attend site when required to support the project delivery and planning team
    • Submit programmes within the required contractual and business deadlines with an associated programme report.
    • Produce tender programmes which aim to produce the most efficient and effective programme of works in accordance with the design, specification and scope of works
    • Undertake Change event programmes in accordance with the contract and track any variations or change, and analyse critical, and non-critical project paths. This is to be reported back to the delivery team.
    • Manage subcontract programmes in accordance with business and contract requirements and provide feedback to the supply chain to better improved the programme delivery.
    • Support with the development of junior members of the team
    • Produce and updating dashboards and trackers to support with tracking project performance
    • Day to day communication with the Design, Consents, commercial, estimating, project team, client and supply chain to support with project delivery
    • Host and attend recurring planning meetings to ensure all involved are updated on the programme and project plan.
    • Produce summary programmes, reports and charts to communicate the programme logic at all levels and with company presentations
    • Be able to resource and cost load all programmes in accordance with business and contractual requirements to support with reporting on dashboards, earned value management and project performance.

    • Demonstrable experience with developing schemes from pre-construction, through construction and into handover, with/or for a distribution network operation (DNO) is beneficial, along with a good knowledge of NEC contracts.
    • Extensive experience of using Primavera P6 including cost and resource loading. to an advanced level and a good knowledge of MS Project, including the cost and resource loading of programmes.
    • An understanding of NRWSA (New Roads and Street Works Act) regulations would be advantageous.

    Your primary role is to ensure substation infrastructure is correctly identified and procured, in a timely manner. You will achieve this ensuring the detailed preparation and delivery of functional specifications, equipment schedules and associated scheme drawings. You'll provide ongoing technical support and advice on procurement of plant and equipment, by liaising directly with suppliers and manufacturers, to order plant and equipment, as per client specification and approved designs.Here are some of the activities you will get involved with...
    • Responsible for assessing client project requirements and producing detailed plant and equipment and protection specifications.
    • Creating appropriate system designs ensuring compliance with applicable specifications and tender documentation, coordination with manufactures and suppliers.
    • Assist with tendering activities and provide regular technical guidance for any proposed schemes, as may be required.
    • Prepare site layouts and schematics, for multi-staged substations construction build projects.
    • Manage external plant and equipment manufacturers, design consultants, and oversee designs outputs to ensure compatibility with the electro-technical requirements.
    • Liaise with internal and external design team, clients, manufacturers, and consultancies to produce accurate designs within timescales indicated and in line with deliverables.
    • Produce detailed electrical control and protection schematic drawings for construction of large electrical infrastructure schemes.
    • Produce electro-technical drawings, plant and material procurement lists, and wiring diagrams for control for protection and control systems.
    • Preparation of functional specifications and providing advice on procurement of plant and equipment and liaising with manufacturers to order plants as per client specification.
    • Be able to produce detailed specifications for high voltage plant, equipment and ancillary plant and equipment associated with high voltage substations.
    • Review equipment manufacturers’ proposals and liaise with equipment manufacturers to ensure equipment suitability is in line with the proposed design.
    • Production of equipment schedules in line with relevant IEC, DNO, ENA, IDNO and client-based specifications.
    • Development and review of single line diagrams, P&C block diagrams, & connection diagrams.
    • Production of AC and DC schematic drawings, control and protection, cable block diagrams, SCADA and multicore cable and termination schedules.

    • Process and produce transparent weekly and monthly cost value reconciliation process to ensure that accurate and timely information
    • Capture and allocate all relevant costs and liabilities.
    • Maintain long term relationships with internal and external teams for transfer of information within parameters to ensure that relationships are maintained to meet the needs of the business.
    • Assist in managing opportunities and risks to the business ensuring deviations from working practice are identified and highlighted.

    • Capture and report direct labour payments; assist in drafting and awarding sub-contracts and assessing tenders.
    • Share learning and commercial best practice to encourage continuous improvement;
