    We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same.

    You will plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.

    As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on the job coaching and feedback.

    With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.

    You will be responsible for:

    I know my customers and serving them with passion and pride, giving great natural service.
    I actively encourage customers to give feedback on their shopping trip through completing the ‘have your say’ survey.
    I work across all areas of the store including, online, the tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to ensure tasks are completed to meet the needs of our customers.
    Putting into practice the training I have received to ensure we work all work safely.
    Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
    Being knowledgeable about my stores performance, understanding the part I play and what we need to do together to deliver profit.
    Being myself, living our values, making everyone feel welcome and always following our policies.
    Ensuring I clock in and out at the start and end of my shift to ensure I am paid accurately for the hours I work.
    I keep myself, my colleagues and customers safe by following the security procedures and wearing safety equipment where available.
    I always follow the think 25 policy when serving age restricted products to all customers.
    Responding quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts, explaining what you are doing to the customer.
    I work in a clean, tidy and organised manner keeping aisles clear of congestion.
    At certain times I may be responsible for running the shift in the absence of my Shift Leader and Store Manager.
    I ensure I follow all the training I have received in order to keep the myself, others and the store safe and legal.
    If this store has a Post Office Local, Your duties will include the day to day operations of the post office therefore you will be required to undertake a Post Office Financial and criminal conviction background check, which you will be required to pass in order to proceed with this role, if these checks fail, we will be forced to withdraw the job offer.’

    Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

    It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

    The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work - the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you are available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we’d still love to hear from you. From helping customers to making sure store operations stay on track, being a Shift Leader at Tesco is a truly rewarding role. You’ll face lots of interesting challenges as you oversee the store from the shop floor and strive to make things just that little bit better for customers, colleagues and communities, every day.

    As a Shift Leader you’ll:

    Work in a fast-paced retail environment, with bags of variety
    Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
    Be there for customers, listening to them and helping to make sure they leave the store with what they came for
    Look for ways to improve service, including coaching your colleagues and giving feedback to the team
    Guide and support your colleagues in-store, making sure it stays a safe place to work and shop
    Maintain a great understanding of how your store is performing, and assist managers in delivering any actions that help improve the running of the store
    Lead from the front, and set a great example for your colleagues in everything you do

    You will be responsible for:

    Â

    Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
    Supporting your colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks
    Opening and closing the store, and completing duty cover, ensuring all decisions made are right for everyone's safety
    Being the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
    Making sure the store is always clean, tidy, and well-presented
    Supporting managers to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events
    Contributing to a great team atmosphere, that is inclusive of everyone
    Providing great customer service, by listening to our customers and putting them first in everything you do
    Keeping the team well-informed and up to speed on any communications, changes, or updates
    Staying knowledgeable about store performance, and looking for ways to improve and simplify operations
    Coordinating store improvements, and removing any obstacles that might be getting in the way of great service
    Following health and safety routines and procedures, and ensuring colleagues do the same
    Recognising and celebrating colleagues within the team who are providing great service

    You will need:

    To be a great role model, by always giving thoughtful customer service that ensures every customers needs are met
    To build strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive team atmosphere that encourages everyone to do their best work
    To be a clear communicator, comfortable with using a variety of methods to keep your team well-informed and up to date

Our Customer Delivery Drivers get the opportunity to meet and talk to different customers in their homes every day. That's why this role is about much more than just driving: it's about helping others and delivering great service, with a smile.

    Its hands on, physical and full of variety. No two shifts are ever the same and our customer's look for help in all kinds of different ways. For most of the day you'll feel like your own boss, delivering to your customers but there is always a team of Managers and colleagues back at base ready to support you when you need them.

    You will be responsible for:

    Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by:

    I ensure the van and trays I use are clean and kept tidy/organised.
    Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as I see it.
    Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
    Loading the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
    Talking to the customer about any changes to their order, including short code item and substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
    Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were my own.
    Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
    Delivering during the customers time slot.
    Calling the customer before arriving at their property if early.
    Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.

    You will need:

    Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to make sure our store is the best it can be for customers.
    Warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say "Thank you."
    Acting quickly to respond to the changing needs of our customers and embracing change within my store.
    Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to achieve a balance that is right for me.
    Sharing ideas with my Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve our store for customers.
    A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
