    THE ROLE My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join their London office on a CONTRACT or PERMANENT basis.

    This is to work on various RAIL projects.

    You must have experience of all quantity surveying and commercial management duties and have good Rail experience using NEC contracts.

    THE COMPANY My client is a long established busy firm of PQS with several offices.

    My client works on projects for infrastructure and also for buildings.

    THE CANDIDATE You will be a Quantity Surveyor / commercial manager who has good experience of working on RAIL related projects.

    You should have a BSc or similar in Quantity Surveying.

    You may be MRICS qualified although this is not essential.

    You will have in excess of 6 years quantity surveying experience.

    You must have good knowledge in the use of NEC contracts.

    You will have good all round Quantity Surveying experience to include dealing with project costs, budget management, forecasting, contract administration, managing risks, performace reviews, final accounts etc.

    This role can be on a contract or permanent basis.

    The contract roles will be inside IR35 and rates will depend on your level of experience but likely to be from £450 to £500 per day with the higher salary needing some team management experience. xrexnqw

    THE ROLE We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join my client, a firm of consulting engineers in their London office in London SE1. You will join their team working on a good range of drainage and infrastructure schemes for really interesting and challenging projects You will work on a range of projects doing flood risk assessments, drainage and highways. You will do design, report writing, calculations, specifications, drawings and Civils 3D models plus do site visits, surveys, inspections etc. THE CLIENT Our client is a successful, fairly large firm of engineering consultants. THE CANDIDATE You will need to have the following:- You must have a BSc or MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering. You should be IEng qualified with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent or you may already be chartered with ICE. You need to have several years working as a Civil Engineer for a firm of consulting engineers. You need good all round civil engineering and infrastructure experience having worked on flood risk assessments, drainage and highways projects. You must be up to date with the various UK regulations including Manual for Streets, DMRB and Design and Construction Guidance. You need to have experience of working closely with highways authorities and similar. Some experience in the use of InfoDrainage and Autodesk Civils 3D or similar is required. Some experience of the preparation submission of applications to statutory bodies water companies for Section 104/106/185/50 agreements, do Land Drainage Consent applications and FRAP EA Environmental Permits etc. You will do site visits and attend meetings with architects, planners, engineers, local authorities etc. You will ideally be working towards becoming chartered or be keen to do so and my client will give you good support towards chartership. A U.K. passport and driving licence is required as you will need to be able to get National Security Vetting CTC / Level 1B clearance. Salary is negotiable between £40000 to £65000 depending on your level of experience and qualifications plus pension and other benefits. THE CANDIDATE You will either be an MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management. You must have experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS. You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. You must be able to do both pre and post contract work. You should have used JCT contracts.     THE ROLE My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join them in Glasgow. This will be an interesting role as you will have the opportunity to work on projects across a wide range of sectors. They are seeking someone either at Project Surveyor level who may be recently chartered or someone with a couple of years post qualification experience. This company will offer excellent prospects for promotion and a wide range of interesting projects. THE COMPANY My client is a long established busy firm of PQS with offices across the UK and abroad. The Glasgow office is very busy and working on projects for both buildings and infrastructure. THE CANDIDATE You will be a Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS. My client would like someone who has around three years or more post graduate experience doing pre and post contract work. You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or similar and have around 3 plus years experience working for a PQS firm either post graduation or during your Degree if you were doing your BSc on day release. Ideally you will be Chartered with the RICS. You should have used JCT contracts and any knowledge of NEC contracts would be useful. You need to have both pre and post contract experience. You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.
