    Facilities Coordinator Introduction We are looking for a Facilities Coordinator to join the team. You will be predominantly based at our offices in Colchester, but at times will also be required to travel to our site in Snodland, Kent. This role comes with a company car. About the Role The Facilities Coordinator will be a highly visible role, responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of all employees, visitors and contractors using the office facilities in the Southeast. Ensuring the offices are an inviting, open and inclusive place to work from. In addition to this role a key requirement will be on diary/calendar management of the southeast senior leadership team to maximise management time within the region. This includes the efficient organisation of meeting spaces for meetings, conferences and events. What Youll Be Doing Ensuring the South-East offices meet all Health are optimised for service delivery Working closely with the purchasing team to optimise contracted spend with approved suppliers Ensuring that the Environmental, Quality and Safety Management systems and procedures are understood and enacted Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues Sharing best practices with colleagues from other parts of the business and industry Managing and coordinating the Senior leadership team diary, to maximise management time within the region Screening external communications that come into the senior leadership team,= and directing them for action and response Ensuring the offices remain up to date in terms of IT connectivity and best practice The Ideal Candidate You're a great fit for this role if you have: A IOSH Managing Safely or Facilities Management Qualification preferred Full / Clean driving licence Experience of managing an office or other such facility preferred IT Literate to perform required tasks and responsibilities, including knowledge of corporate procurement rules Effective communication skills both written and verbal Statutory Inspection knowledge in an office environment preferred but not essential Why Tarmac We don't just offer a job, we offer a career. This is a key leadership role where youll oversee multiple contracts, lead high-performing teams, and play a vital part in delivering safe, efficient, and commercially successful operations. Youll work closely with internal teams, customers, and supply chain partners to ensure programmes are delivered to the highest standard while supporting long-term business growth. What Youll Be Doing In this role, youll take ownership of a portfolio of contracts and ensure they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives. You will: Lead the delivery of operational strategy, ensuring contracts meet budget, performance targets, and company standards Oversee day-to-day contract performance, including programme delivery, forecasting, and post-contract evaluation Drive operational efficiency by minimising cost and maximising value across all contracts Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, supply chain partners, and key stakeholders Support business growth by identifying new opportunities, contributing to tenders, and strengthening client partnerships Lead, coach, and develop Contract Supervisors and Site Foremen to drive high performance and safe working practices Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities Manage financial performance, risk exposure, and contract profitability, resolving issues and disputes where required What We Are Looking For Were looking for a confident and driven leader with strong operational and commercial awareness, who can balance performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Youll bring: Proven experience managing construction contracts, ideally within planing and asphalt operations Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate, develop, and influence teams A customer-focused mindset, with a track record of building and maintaining successful partnerships Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive collaboration Commercial acumen and experience in financial management, forecasting, and cost control A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, focused on driving efficiency and innovation Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage risk and resolve challenges effectively Desirable: HNC/HND or equivalent higher education qualification, or significant industry experience Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH Why Tarmac We don't just offer a job, we offer a career.
