Additionally, you play a role in training and mentoring junior staff.Key Accountabilities:In-Field Medical ExcellenceCoordinate and, where possible, harmonise in-field medical excellence activities to ensure best practices and consistency across teams.Attend multiple HCP meetings per year alongside in-field Medical Affairs professionals (both in person and remotely), providing coaching and real-time support to develop and elevate the quality of HCP interactions.Provide ongoing feedback, observation, and tailored skill development to field teams during and after HCP engagements.Partner with field medical teams to optimise insights, reporting, and analytics; harmonise field KPIs and oversee measurement through the effective use of dashboards.Design, implement, or support programmes for continuous improvement of in-field performance.Champion the importance of in-field medical activity, empowering Medical Affairs professionals to effectively prioritise and maximise the impact of their field engagements.Medical Skills and Capabilities DevelopmentConduct needs assessments and capability mapping for Medical Affairs professionals to identify skill gaps and training needs.Design, deliver, and evaluate targeted learning interventions, onboarding programs, and continuous professional development resources.Lead and exemplify the enhancement of digital and innovative capabilities within Medical Affairs, promoting digital literacy, best practice sharing, and the adoption of emerging tools and technologies—including digital medicine, AI solutions, and collaborative platforms (MS Teams, CRM)—to drive operational impact.Foster a culture of continuous learning, digital curiosity, and skill progression through mentoring, workshops, and engagement in industry trends.Operational Excellence & Process InnovationPartner with Medical Affairs systems owners (e.g., Veeva, Marv, CRM) to drive system adoption and training, supporting audits and compliance.Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to define, initiate, and implement strategic projects and continuous improvement activities.Serve as the main local contact for Medical Excellence and Operations (EUCAN/Global), supporting alignment and effective project delivery.Participate in or lead internal strategic meetings, supporting efficient resource coordination and follow-up on agreed actions.Build strong internal and external networks to leverage best practice, identify partnership opportunities, and capitalise on data-driven innovation.Content ExcellenceIdentify, promote, and implement best practices in medical content creation and multi-channel dissemination to optimise stakeholder engagement and maintain consistency of scientific messaging.Collaborate closely with global and regional Medical Excellence and Scientific Teams (MEST) to share impactful locally generated content, championing MCO-led initiatives that demonstrate local innovation and have potential for broader adoption across regions.Key Requirements:Relevant degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or related discipline. You will have a deep understanding of a relevant therapy area, as well as the clinical development and data supporting Takeda medicines. A true subject matter expert, you will have a high degree of credibility both internally and externally. You will be expected to develop a strategic KOL network and to use engagements with these individuals to systematically gather relevant insights for Takeda and, where appropriate, to challenge and influence the thinking of leading clinicians. As our Senior Medical Advisor you will have a key role within their brand team, using insights gathered from HCPs to influence cross-functional brand strategy and develop the medical tactical plan. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of medical activities in the areas of insight gathering (incl. advisory boards), Medical Education, Scientific Communication and Real-World Evidence Generation. You will provide compliance support in respect of activities and materials generated across the Brand Team. And will be expected to undergo training to become an ABPI final signatory (either medical or non-medical signatory depending on eligibility). As this role is to support a new product launch, a high degree of planning, prioritisation and a focus on execution will be required to ensure key milestones for pre-launch and launch are met.Your tasks in detail: ·Lead the medical launch and delivery of medical tactics within dermatology (psoriasis). Tactics will generally fall into the broad categories of evidence generation, insight gathering, medical education, medical communication, reimbursement support and commercial support.·Delivery of medical tactics will necessitate effective cross-functional working, engagement with HCPs and other external parties, selection and management of vendors such as Med Comms agencies and Contract Research Organisations ·Be the 'face of Takeda medical' by HCPs working in dermatology. This will involve spending a substantial proportion of available time developing and maintaining a professional network comprising a diverse range of key experts in the relevant therapy areas. Utilise this network to gather insights to guide the development of strategy and tactics. ·As this will be a new therapy area for Takeda, it will be key that we develop and maintain HCP relationships within the UK·Collaborate with colleagues from the Clinical Operations function to support the delivery of key clinical trials within the UK. Activities ranging from supporting site selection through to activities designed to drive recruitment ·Support cross functional colleagues and provide appropriate medical input into a wide variety of activities, including Health Technology Appraisal submissions and new marketing campaigns ·Review a wide variety of materials to ensure compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and work collaboratively with colleagues to agree appropriate, compliant solutions.
