    Position Purpose

    The MDE Level I is a developing design engineer able to be involved in design phases of projects. They may assume responsibility for elements or kits with supervision and will be aware of progress and liaise with the senior engineer. The MDE Level I must develop a knowledge of the cutting edge of technology in relevant subject areas. An effective MDE Level I will work on developing their communication skills and maintain a positive approach to all challenges.ResponsibilitiesEnsure safety and quality processes are maintained.Possesses and applies a knowledge of standard engineering principles and practices under the supervision and guidance of othersAwareness and assessment of state-of-the-art technologies and industry competition.Maintains good working relationships and instils confidence in colleagues throughout the organisation at all levels.Engages in principles of high-performance leadership and understands importance of them.Supports the development of new techniques and/or improved processes, documentation, or products.     Position Purpose

    The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, prototyping, testing, and implementing advanced electrical systems and components, as well as the cases, enclosures, and chassis used to house them. They will work on a wide variety of products including rack-mounted electrical/electronic products, hoist & winch machinery conversions and related structural interfaces. They will also spend a proportion of their time helping to maintain and support existing product line.
    Responsibilities Detailed hardware design of the electrical and mechanical elements of our products from concept generation, through prototype phases, to final detailed design for manufacture.Generate creative design solutions based on sound engineering principles, making intelligent use of proven methods to reduce technical risk.Produce clear and accurate design documents, e.g. schematics, bills of materials, CAD drawings.Build strong relationships with other engineers on Hampton site and across TAIT, taking a collaborative approach to new product design and development, drawing on your experience and learning from others.Work actively with Production team to ensure your designs transfer well to manufacture, seeking feedback to refine your designs.Coordinate with Purchasing team to provide technical input into the procurement process, engaging directly with external suppliers when required to ensure the quality and value of our outside vendor parts and services.Design mechanical components for enclosures using methods for sheet metal manufacturing and CNC machining.Maintain a working knowledge of applicable technical standards, creating and compiling the relevant design documentation to support CE marking, UL certification, and other regulatory requirements.Support the ongoing production of existing products; fault finding, managing obsolescence, and updating legacy designs as required.

    Position Purpose

    The Mechanical Fabricator plays a critical role in the manufacture and assembly of a wide range of bespoke projects including structural fabrications, fascia’s and show decks, and mechanically driven stage machinery. This position combines high-quality welding and fabrication with mechanical build and fitting, supporting both static structures and dynamic, moving systems. Working across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, the role involves the use of both MIG and TIG welding processes to fabricate components to engineering specifications and tight tolerances. In addition to fabrication, the position includes mechanical assembly of parts such as gearboxes, motors, drive systems, and other moving mechanisms used in performance and staging environments.
     
    Essential Responsibilities
    Fabricate structural and architectural components using MIG/TIG/MMA welding to require specifications.Work with various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.Construct custom metal frameworks, fascia structures, deck platforms, and mounting assemblies tailored to project requirements. Use cutting, rolling, and bending equipment to form components as needed.Adhere to welding procedures and quality standards, ensuring high finish quality and dimensional accuracy.Assemble mechanical systems including bearings, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, linear rails, and other components used in stage machinery.Fit and align moving parts to ensure smooth and safe mechanical function.Perform functional testing and basic fault finding on mechanical systems.Work from mechanical schematics, exploded drawings, and layout plans to complete assemblies.Maintain an organized and tidy work area, adhering to health & safety standards.Support cross-functional collaboration with design, engineering, and installation teams to resolve build challenges.Conduct in-process quality checks and ensure all work meets project specifications and safety requirements.Handle materials in line with company procedures, including inventory checks and waste minimization.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to fabrication, assembly, and workflow.

    Essential Responsibilities / Accountabilities Identifies architecture and key controls technologies to meet project needs. Understands entire automated systems, and how different disciplines interact (mechanical, controls, AVL, artistic, etc.). Writes technical documentation both to fulfill project requirements and for internal purposes. Performs safety analysis to satisfy both internal standards and external customer requirements; willing to pursue or maintain TÜV functional safety certification. Develops custom PLC projects, HMI screens, and software configurations when required for projects. Suggests and researches new products and solutions, and when necessary, builds and tests prototypes. Assists in project bidding activities, including technical proposals and estimates. Leads design reviews, offering constructive feedback to the team.
