It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. In this position, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of First Aid training for Police Officers and Police Staff across both Surrey and Sussex Police. All training will be delivered in accordance with Clinical Governance standards and the College of Policing licensing requirements, ensuring the highest level of compliance and quality. You may also be required to provide training to partner agencies and community groups, supporting wider engagement and collaboration. As this role covers both Surrey and Sussex forces, regular travel across these areas is essential. Please note that while this is a permanent position, the Learning & Professional Development (L&PD) department is currently undergoing a change programme, and this role will form part of that review process.Skills & ExperienceWork under guidance of Joint force clinical Governance and implement changes in relevant business areas (PO/Custody/Firearms/PST) to align to CG requirements. To represent the Learning and Development function in Force, National and Regional Meetings. Ensure force compliance with National guidelines for First Aid training for all officers and staff at all levels. Complete and submit Joint Surrey and Sussex element of the joint QA submission on the College of Policing PSQMS system when required. To manage staffing levels, ensure efficient use of limited resources to create the most value and to deliver the best service for the Force. Provide Subject Matter Expert level advice on First Aid training issues to delivery teams and management. Produce risk assessments relevant to the first aid training provided to all officers and staff in Surrey and Sussex ensuring they are kept up to date with the rotation of various training activities. Communicate relevant professional changes to all delivery teams in Surrey and Sussex Police ensuring that supporting documentation is updated and standardised. Ensure accurate and complete records are kept in an easy to retrieve format for all of the above activities on relevant force systems. Monitor first aid equipment orders across Surrey and Sussex to ensure departments are ordering correct supplies and to ensure best value for money. Management of BOC (oxygen) contracts and SOPs for medical gases ensuring all medical gas transactions are completed and organisation of a recording and monitoring system for all medical oxygen and Entonox across Surrey and Sussex. Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonably required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post. Experience Training delivery experience and hold a Level 4 Award in Education and Training or have completed the Training Essentials Programme. Previous Supervisor or management experience.
