Job Description We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our customer Site Unilever in Leeds, for our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.
The role is full time, working on a permanent basis and will be working on a 4 ON 4 OFF shift pattern and we have opportunities working Nights:
Night Shift between 18:00 and 06:00
Pay Rates:
We have increased our pay rates , with rates now ranging from £16.35 to £18.96 per hour , depending on shift giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.
Mon-Fri Nights- £16.35per hour
Saturday and Sunday Nights- £18.65per hour
Bank Holidays - £18.96per hour.
On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance
Driver Responsibilities:
General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
Qualifications You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
Understand and able to comply with Drivers hours and WTD legislation.
Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
Excellent communication skills.
