This is a senior technical role with broad interface responsibilities across onshore and offshore packages, offering the opportunity to influence key engineering decisions on large-scale renewable energy projects. You will Act as Owner’s Engineer and technical lead for the export cable system package, overseeing design, tender evaluation, construction and commissioning through to as-built documentation and prequalification and type tests before factory acceptance tests. Review and challenge subsea cable system design, including thermal, thermomechanical, stability, earthing, fibre optic and monitoring systems. Interface with onshore cable systems, installation and earthing design, power systems requirements and reactive compensation to ensure technical alignment across packages. Provide technical assurance through document reviews, compliance checks, factory and site acceptance tests, and by witnessing key qualification and commissioning activities. Support project leadership with risk management, cost–benefit analysis, change management and technical input to commercial and strategic decisions. You have An Electrical Engineering (Hons) degree, with Chartered status achieved or working towards it. Significant experience in high voltage cable engineering, including subsea systems above 132kV, with Onshore HV Cable System and Subsea Cable Installation experience beneficial. Strong technical knowledge across cable design including near shore approach, installation, testing and commissioning, with the ability to independently author and review technical documentation. This will include management of commercial staff and negotiate contract prices and ensure all contract prices can be substantiated and provide value for money to consumers - Have demonstrable stakeholder engagement and management skills are essential, as is the ability to influence, lead and resolve disputes together with problem solving. - Deal with cost and forecast management via regular cost reporting and ensuring change management procedures are adhered to, Payment and expenditure management, Cost estimating. - Provide robust post contract commercial management which will support the project goals and objectives including negotiating/agreeing compensation events and ensuring that the core principles of the Commercial Manual are being implemented.
