Main duties of the job Four consultants cover the units during the daytime. A flexible rota design is on offer to compliment the individual requirements of any post-holder. A standard day is 8 with two consultants covering until 9pm. There is a strong Consultant presence out of hours. The current night time on call frequency is at present 1:14 for full time consultants. Night time on call is resident until 10 7 days per week and non-resident thereafter dependent on clinical requirements. The Critical Care Consultant team is supported by a strong middle grade tier comprising of highly experienced Specialty Trainees in ICM, Clinical Fellows, MTI Fellows and Anaesthetic trainees. We have 2 middle grade doctors resident overnight. The resident rota contains an expanding number of ACCPs (9 fully qualified with 2 in training), speciality trainees, foundation doctors and trust doctors.
