(Word, 77.52kb) It is their role to ensure that current content remains up to date, accurate and with agreed metrics for monitoring. The role holder will also provide content which must be relevant and engaging to key target audiences and reflect the style and tone of voice in line with editorial and brand guidelines.
Content production and dissemination: Supporting the Content and Production Manager, you will source, generate, edit, proof and publish content on all our platforms (text, images, video and audio content) ensuring that it is appropriate to its audience, factually checked, accurate and measured against pre-determined metrics – following the UCAS recruitment cycle and Solent University Content Calendar. Social Media: You will be integral in the planning and delivery of content on our social channels. You will be involved in the development phase for social media content and work with the Content and Production Manager and Social Media Officer to identify areas and themes where content can be used strategically to support the university objectives, focusing on recruitment and reputation. University brand and reputation champion: The brand and reputation of the University is key to our success and global development. This role will be a champion for both areas, which means advocating the brand internally and externally and seeking to enhance the University reputation across all activities. Put metrics in place that enable you to monitor the results of all content, where feasible, in order to identify best practice and report back on results. Further responsibilities Plan and develop content, keeping in accordance with the strategic priorities and in line with the University brand guidelines
Edit, proofread and (where necessary) improve existing content
Help to plan and promote content across social media platforms to increase web traffic and social interaction
Ensure all content produced is optimised for SEO where relevant
Maintain website content to ensure it is all up to date and accurate and use your technical skills to upload content
Support the delivery of the content strategy alongside the Content and Production Manager
Effectively manage multiple projects to agreed deadlines
Establish and maintain good relationships across the university in order to understand the university’s corporate objectives and plans
Work in accordance with the Data Protection Act and with copyright laws.
Undertake other duties as may be reasonably expected.
Attendance at some university general open days and other campus recruitment events is required and will normally involve weekend work
Occasional working of unsocial hours required Qualifications: Degree or equivalent marketing, journalism, writing or communications qualification
Desirable: CIM qualification Knowledge: Knowledge of content marketing theories and practices
Knowledge of marketing planning and evaluation
Knowledge of social media platforms and management
Knowledge of marketing principles and techniques
Knowledge of online digital marketing activities
Knowledge of content management systems
Knowledge of usability and accessibility Experience: Proven written and verbal communication skills, especially for online channels and including copy editing and proof reading.
Previous experience in a marketing environment.
Evidence of ability to manage projects to time and budget.
Evidence of maintaining effective customer relationships.
Writing, editing, formatting, still image and audio-visual production skills for effectively presenting content both on and offline. Demonstrate the University Values
