You’ll be confident delivering work across a range of projects, both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong efficiency, attention to detail, and teamwork.If you’re ready to take the next step in your fire safety career and make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):Conducting detailed visual and, where requested, destructive examinations of fire door installations, frames, and associated hardwareVerifying labelling and certification of fire door sets/assembliesChecking for visible damage, wear, or modifications that may compromise the door's performanceTesting the operation of fire doors, including opening, closing, and latching mechanismsVerifying functionality of self-closing devices and other hardwareEnsuring fire doors meet current fire and building code requirementsEvaluating the installation of fire doors and their compatibility with supporting wall structuresAssessing the suitability and performance of all door components, including hinges, locks, letterplates, spy holes, glazing, intumescent strips & smoke seals, drop-down seals, self-closers, etcPreparing detailed inspection reports documenting findings, non-compliance issues, and recommended corrective actionsMaintaining accurate records of all inspections performedStaying updated on current fire safety legislation and standards to ensure all inspections are compliantBuilding strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to promote awareness of fire door safety requirementsAdhering to all safety protocols and regulations while performing inspectionsPromoting fire safety awareness and best practices to clientsTo be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:A strong understanding of fire door regulations and fire safety standardsAttention to detail and a methodical approach to inspections and reportingGood communication skills and the ability to build professional relationshipsCommitment to ongoing learning and staying current with legislation and best practicesAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyStrong report writing and record-keeping skillsA proactive attitude towards health and safety and promoting complianceAbout Fire Safety PracticeOur Fire Safety Practice team handles the consultancy side of fire safety.
