You will have responsibility and accountability from the pre-construction phase right through to handover, ensuring quality, safety, and programme targets are achieved.   Your Responsibilities   Lead and manage all site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Drive quality standards and implement robust control processes throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain strong relationships and clear communication. Oversee planning, sequencing, and logistics to optimise efficiency and mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, company procedures, and statutory requirements. Take ownership of project delivery from cradle to grave, including pre-construction planning, mobilisation, and final handover.     Your Profile   Educated to degree level or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. A strong track record of leading teams and successfully delivering major construction projects. Good knowledge and understanding of appropriate forms of contract such as NEC3 and JCT Design & Build. A technical engineering background that enables you to drive project completion within budget and on time, with a focus on quality. Your role is pivotal in aligning project delivery with business objectives and driving innovation in planning practices.   Key Responsibilities Programme Management:  Develop, maintain, and manage all programmes and production control deliverables across the project lifecycle. Detailed Planning Outputs: Prepare comprehensive phasing diagrams, logistics plans, S-curves, resource histograms, and plant schedules. Project Controls:  Implement robust controls, including forecasting, early warning systems, and performance monitoring. Stakeholder Communication:  Clearly articulate the planning roadmap and performance measures to project teams, clients, and supply chain partners. Challenge & Assurance:  Question and validate project plans to ensure compliance with company, regional, and project targets. Pre-Contract & Bid Support:  Contribute to tender strategies, pre-contract planning, and bid submissions. Solid understanding of construction methods and planning from first principles.   Desirable Skills: Experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Familiarity with BIM 4D techniques.     Sir Robert McAlpine has secured a prestigious contract to construct a state-of-the-art Battery Manufacturing Facility. The initial phase of the project includes the design and construction of a new 15GWh lithium-ion battery facility, ancillary buildings, and site-wide external works.  We are currently looking for a Document Controller to join us on site in Bridgwater.     Why join us? Since 1869 we've worked on building and civil engineering projects that have set the standard for others to follow - right up to present-day examples like the Eden Project, Olympic Stadium and award-winning new Bloomberg building.   The Document Controller Role   As a member of the project team, you will be responsible for managing and organising all project information, ensuring that information is accurate, up to date, easily accessible and is stored in the correct Project System in line with the Company Information Management Register (IMR).  You will act as the central point of contact for all matters in relation to project information including providing support and ongoing communication with the Project Team and relevant Stakeholders.
