    Job Application Event Safety Steward We are Showsec, the award-winning venue and event security specialist dedicated to achieving excellence in crowd management. We are seeking additional Event Safety Stewards to join our Cardiff team – you’ll have the chance to work at major events and festivals over the summer, including Blackweir 2026 and the Principality Stadium. In addition to local events, there will be opportunities to work further afield across the UK, if you’re happy to travel. The role of an Event Safety Steward is largely focused on customer service, so we expect you to be confident and approachable. Other key responsibilities include monitoring of crowds, carrying out safety checks and supporting with entry and exit procedures. Whether you are looking to top up your income, or pursue a career in event security and crowd management, Showsec offers you the freedom to choose your own shifts – if you have existing commitments, this could be the perfect role for you. Due to the nature of work in the events industry, you will need to be available during evenings and weekends. Depending on the venue you are working in, shifts can finish past midnight, so it’s important that you have reliable transportation to get home safely when public transport is no longer available. What you will be doing Perform pre and post event checks Assist with safe and effective ingress, egress and queue management Enforce venue policies and procedures Pass, accreditation, and ticket checks Ensure fire exits and evacuation routes are always kept clear Monitor spectators for signs of distress, overcrowding and inappropriate behaviour, and report these to the on-shift supervisor Be vigilant, identify potential hazards and suspicious behaviour, and report to the on-shift supervisor Assist with evacuation and invacuation procedures in the event of an emergency Ensure health and safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to by all stakeholders Understand and complete general stewarding responsibilities What Showsec can offer you A minimum hourly rate of £15.07 per hour (comprising a pay rate of £13.45 and indicative holiday pay of £1.62). Holiday pay is indicative because it is accrued at 12.07% for every hour worked in accordance with your average pay rate over the previous 52 worked weeks. If you work at a different rate the pay and holiday pay will change accordingly.
