  • Description :- Agriculture graduate is wanted for a new trainee technical salesperson opportunity. A new and exciting animal feed merchanting company with a reputation for feed quality, personal customer service and technical support seeks a trainee dairy cow technical salesperson. The company is able to offer Lancashire dairy and cattle farmers, a full portfolio of compounds and blends. A dairy cow enthusiast with knowledge of beef and sheep is required who will be fully conversant with feeding cows on-farm. This role could suit either dairy herdsperson or an agricultural college/university graduate with first class practical experience of working with dairy cows and a common sense but informed knowledge of achieving profitable milk production. Candidates should have had experience with a large herd environment. In a challenging dairy farming industry. A self-starting and dynamic individual is required who can demonstrate to farmers a winning farm business empathy. Enthusiastic candidates will learn to demonstrate nutritional technical ability in front of leading dairy and livestock farmers by being able to provide on farm customer support and troubleshooting as required; Computer literacy, excellent livestock knowledge and good communication skills plus an outgoing personality are required as a minimum. Candidates should have a "can do" attitude and willing to take on a variety of tasks. An agricultural qualification would be considered advantageous but not essential for the right candidate. An initial training program will be developed for up to one year according to individual candidate needs. Location:

  • DESCRIPTION: On behalf of a well-known GB merchanting company, a Ruminant Feed Technical Support Specialist is required to technically support both farmer customers and sales personnel with feed rationing and also use of minerals on-farm . This job is primarily aimed at cattle and sheep farmers in the West Midlands area. This key Ruminant Support Specialist will support its farm customers by the promotion and sale of its supplement and feed products Candidates will be expected to support sales by communicating technical product benefits and as well as being involved in on-farm rationing where required. The job will entail spending time supporting its own sales staff making direct sales to livestock farmers. Some formal qualification would be desirable for the role either with qualification of the Feed Advisory register or a ruminant nutrition diploma or second degree at a Masters level,. Good communication skills are essential for this role in developing strong farmer relationship ; candidates will need to create and develop strong personal relationships with colleagues to support the company's team ethic. Good computer and IT skills are essential for this role REMUNERATION:
    The basic salary will be commensurate to related commercial cattle feeding skills together with any relevant sales experience and network. Normal company benefits will include a fully expensed car.

  • DESCRIPTION:
    A Feed Straights Area Sales Manager is required to sell and trade straights particularly wet co products as well as blends to Dairy & Cattle farmers throughout the South, West Midlands and South Wales. Previous trading or sales experience to livestock farmers is essential. Excellent communication ability along with good IT/computer skills is important for the successful candidate. Candidates need to have strong self-motivation with a desire to succeed.

    Knowledge of feed straights and blends/cow diets is desirable albeit not essential if candidates have strong farm connections or sales skills. As well as working with the company's customer base in the South,West Midlands, there will be a requirement to grow customer numbers. An agricultural background knowledge and experience of livestock farming and feeding plus awareness/empathy of to-day's livestock business farms is essential.

The role covers both the farm feeds brand HJLea Oakes and the Dodson & Horrell equine business. The company operates a number for mills across Cheshire and North Shropshire. The successful applicant will be responsible for a basket of commodities and products as well as being in charge of the business's straights trading and non-manufactured business. HJLea is looking for someone with a positive mental attitude, determined and resilient, good communicator and team player.
