    Marketing & Media Strategist SHIFT Active Media | Bath SHIFT Active Media is looking for a Strategist with a passion for cycling, the outdoors, and creative communications. You’ll work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer, the wider SHIFT team, and our clients to develop brand, media, and integrated communications strategies that help cycling and outdoor brands thrive. You’ll also contribute to the ongoing development of our strategic tools and thought leadership programme. The role As a Strategist at SHIFT, you’ll combine creativity, insight, and commercial thinking to shape strategies that guide our clients’ communications across brand, media, PR, social and beyond. You’ll turn complex data and audience insights into actionable recommendations and work collaboratively to deliver integrated, impactful campaigns. We believe in the power of in-person collaboration, so team members are asked to spend 4 days per week working in our Bath office. What you’ll be doing Strategy & planning Support strategy and planning on key accounts, helping to develop integrated communications plans across brand, creative, PR, media and social. Contribute to the development of brand positioning, campaign concepts, and longer-term communication strategies. Insight & analysis Tap into our research team, proprietary data, and external sources to uncover actionable insights. Use audience, market, and performance data to guide strategic recommendations. Help establish measures for effectiveness and analyse results to inform future plans. Briefing & collaboration Write and deliver clear, discipline-specific briefs for creative, media, PR, and social teams. Work cross-functionally to bring campaigns to life and ensure integrated solutions. Support the ongoing evolution of SHIFT’s strategic tools and thought leadership. Effectiveness & innovation Track campaign performance, report insights, and make recommendations to optimise impact. Stay on top of emerging marketing channels, technologies, and industry trends, including AI tools, and integrate them into your workflow where appropriate. About you Brand & strategic thinker:         Able to get under the skin of a brand, cut through complexity, and deliver clear, compelling communication strategies. Creative and articulate:             Skilled at turning consumer insights into propositions and messaging that resonate across channels. Marketing knowledge:               Solid understanding of marketing theory, channels, and emerging technologies. Comfortable with data:              Confident using spreadsheets, analytics, and insight sources to inform recommendations. Collaborative:                             Builds strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues to keep projects moving forward. The role As a Senior Paid Media Executive, you’ll focus on the execution and optimisation of paid advertising campaigns, supporting larger strategies while bringing a performance-first mindset to day-to-day delivery. You’ll play a key role in ensuring campaigns run smoothly, efficiently and in line with client objectives. What you’ll be doing Campaign execution & operations Work with Media Managers to deliver paid media campaigns aligned to client goals. Build, launch and optimise campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, YouTube and Meta (experience across all platforms is a bonus, not a requirement). Collaborate with internal and external creative teams to develop effective ad copy and creative that meets platform best practice. Budget management & optimisation Manage budgets across multiple campaigns and clients. Monitor performance and make informed adjustments to bids, budgets and placements to maximise results. Performance analysis & reporting Use analytics and platform tools to track campaign performance and identify trends and opportunities. Support reporting on key metrics such as impressions, clicks, conversions and ROI. Contribute insights and recommendations to improve future campaign performance. Market & trends research Stay up to date with digital marketing trends, platform updates and new ad formats. Research audiences and keywords within ad platforms to inform targeting and planning. About you You don’t need to tick every box to apply. We’re interested in people who are curious, motivated and keen to develop. You’re likely to be a good fit if you have: Experience working with paid advertising, particularly biddable channels such as Google Ads and/or Meta. A genuine interest in marketing and performance media. Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Confidence planning and managing campaigns within Google Ads and Meta. An analytical mindset, with some experience using tools like Google Analytics. Clear written and verbal communication skills. The ability to manage deadlines and work calmly under pressure. This role suits someone who loves great design, enjoys variety, and wants to make work they’re genuinely proud of. The role As a Designer at SHIFT, you’ll contribute to a wide range of creative projects – from digital and social campaigns to video, print, branding and direct-to-consumer work. You’ll support the Head of Design and play an important role in maintaining our high creative standards, delivering work that’s thoughtful, effective and on brand. This is a hands-on role in a collaborative studio environment. The work is varied, fast-paced and creatively challenging.

    Working pattern: This role is primarily office-based, with 4 days per week in our Bath studio during standard business hours. What you’ll be doing Design creative across digital, social, motion, branding and print channels. Take projects from concept through to final delivery, ensuring quality, consistency and attention to detail. Contribute ideas and concepts for campaigns, pitches and proposals. Produce artwork, layouts and image manipulation for advertising and marketing communications. Support the creation of presentations, proposals and showreels. Source or create photography, illustration and graphic assets as required. Develop marketing and brand collateral that supports SHIFT’s visual identity. Collaborate closely with colleagues across creative, account management, media, PR, social and production teams. Champion high creative standards and contribute to evolving our creative processes. About you We’re open to designers from a range of backgrounds, but this role is best suited to someone with solid agency experience who enjoys working across disciplines. You’re likely to be a good fit if you have: Strong design craft across digital, print and motion. Confidence using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects. Experience designing for digital platforms and an understanding of how design translates across different formats and channels.
