    Senior Administrator (Student Records & Assessment) Registry Services Professional & Business Support Grade 5 - £27,319 to £31,236 per annum (depending on experience) The role The Student Records and Assessment Team are split into two distinct teams; Student Records Team and Assessment Team. The Student Records Team is responsible for the student record throughout the entire student lifecycle – from initial enrolment to graduation. They are responsible for key university-wide processes such as enrolment, module choice, change in circumstances, extenuation, arranging examinations and preparing data for graduation booklets. The Assessment Team are responsible for delivering university-wide assessment processes, including the management of assessment submission dates, assessment marks, progression, the processing of awards, and reporting and registration. The department Registry Services plays a vital role in supporting the student journey and in ensuring the integrity of academic administration across the institution. The service is structured into three key functional areas: Records and Assessments, which manages student records and coordinates assessment processes; Student Systems and Data, which oversees the development and maintenance of core student systems, ensures data quality and our external statutory returns; and Student Policy, Casework and Compliance, which leads on academic policy, manages complex student cases, and ensures regulatory compliance incorporating UKVI compliance.     Technician - Analytical Chemistry Technical Operations & Resource Services Student & Academic Support Grade 5, £27,319 to £31,236 Here at Sheffield Hallam University we are seeking a Technician with expertise in analytical chemistry associated techniques to provide specialist technical support, enabling researchers and students to access the full value of the excellent equipment in our analytical facilities. In this role you would be directly involved in supporting laboratory-based activities including under-graduate and post-graduate student research projects, other practical teaching, research and innovation activities. You will work closely with team members to achieve this and support a range of areas of the University - the team section below details the areas we support. The key focus of this post is analytical chemistry, mainly within the School of Biosciences and Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre. Our students experience sector-leading access to state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation. As a Technical Specialist you will have an important role in day-to-day management of the area and you will support the development of colleagues. Laboratory and chemical safety knowledge is essential. You will also need to have in-depth practical experience and knowledge of chemical / biochemical analysis instrumentation and techniques, with proficiency gained from your hands-on experience with calibration, maintenance tasks, method development and troubleshooting. Examples of relevant techniques include HPLC, FPLC, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, Raman spectrometry, ICP, NMR, FTIR, and spectrophotometric/plate reader assays. A background in analytical chemistry, and knowledge and experience of a wide range of the techniques listed above, would be an advantage. However, it is more important to have the aptitude and enthusiasm to learn new techniques and to train and support our students to use them. You will be expected to work flexibly and have, or develop, skills to allow you to support the team’s delivery across a range of disciplines. You will be highly motivated and meticulous in your work, with a professional work ethic, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively across team boundaries sharing knowledge and skills to ensure customer-focussed results.
