    Research Fellow in Mixed Methods Education Research College of Social Sciences & Arts Academic Grade 7 - £39,906 - £44,748 per annum, (pro rata), depending on experience is appointing a Mixed Methods Research Fellow to contribute to excellence and expansion of mixed methods research, evaluation, and knowledge exchange projects. As Research Fellow, you will work with colleagues as part of a team on a range of projects in the fields of education, sociology, and psychology, contributing to the writing of contract research bids and grants, delivery of projects, data collection and analyses and writing reports and academic papers. You will work with quantitative, mixed methods and qualitative specialists on research and evaluation projects which deploy experimental and/or quasi-experimental research designs, design and undertake surveys, group and individual interviews, access and analyse administrative data and play a key role in managing complex projects (including some input into Randomised Controlled Trials). This role will suit people with comfort and experience in undertaking both qualitative and quantitative research who are willing/able to work closely with other specialists on the same project to deliver and disseminate research and evaluation projects in a coherent and useful way. You might have previous experience in undertaking mixed methods research and evaluation and/or have completed a Master’s degree or doctorate in Education or a relevant social science discipline which included qualitative and quantitative elements. This is a temporary/fixed-term role for 14 months but may extend or be made permanent if/when we can demonstrate evidence of increased success (and income) in research, evaluation, and knowledge exchange work. You will be based in Sheffield Institute of Education’s Centre for Research and Knowledge Exchange (SIRKE), the home for funded research, evaluation, knowledge exchange, innovation and consultancy in Sheffield Institute of Education. We have been developing and delivering educational research, evaluation and knowledge exchange locally, nationally and internationally for over thirty years.
