    At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our team.This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. Our Machine Shops offer rough machining and finish machining to exacting tolerances, including complex shapes such as reactor heads for nuclear applications. The department hosts a vast array of milling, turning, boring and finishing machinery including the UK’s largest Vertical Turning Lathe and Horizontal Floor Borer.As a CNC Machinist in this department, you will undertake general machining (predominantly milling) to manufacture high precision products.What you’ll be doingOperating and programming CNC machine tools. Working to complex engineering drawings.Machining large steel castings and forgings.Slinging and crane driving, manoeuvring large components to facilitate machining operations.Use of Continuous Improvement tools such as 6S to maintain standards.
    About YouExperience in using both manual and CNC machines.Extensive experience in milling, ideally multi-skilled in turning and boring as well.Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.Ability to write and understand CNC programs.Experience of crane driving and slinging is highly desirable.

    Operate a Selas treatment rig.
    Ensure that the quality of the forged products are high at all times.
    About YouThe following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
    Previous crane driving experience.
    Previous experience of slinging.
    Thorough understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
    Willing and able to undertake shift work.
    Must be willing to learn new skills.
    Previous experience working in a heavy engineering environment and / or heat treatment plant is an advantage, but not essential.

    At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our team.This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our Foundry Maintenance Team. Our foundry produces the largest and most technically demanding castings in the World, up to 15 metres long, 8.5 metres in diameter and up to 350 tonnes in weight. We have state of the art in-house inspection facilities and a multi-skilled NDT team, offering all conventional surface and volumetric inspection. We also have coded Welders that also undertake casting repairs, fabrication and cladding services.Specifically, the Foundry Maintenance Team is responsible for keeping the foundry equipment, tools, and facilities in safe, reliable, and efficient working condition through preventive and reactive maintenance.As a Reliability Engineer, you will being responsible for the Planned Maintenance Plan for the foundry area and Establishing maintenance best practice and compliance through the introduction of Key Performance Indicators.What you’ll be doingManage all aspects of scheduling, downtime and shutdown maintenance within the department.Take responsibility for the Co-ordination and planning of Maintenance rectification work.Using analytic techniques develop and maintain an accurate estimate of Mean Time Between Failure and Mean Time Before Failure of equipment.Create and keep an up to date set of Technical Documents which detail instructions for asset care for equipment.Be responsible for conducting equipment criticality studies through the implementation of Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) projects.Manage the effective utilisation of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) through the departmental Engineering team.Through Root Cause Analysis, review and continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance plan.Develop a continuous improvement culture within their department

    Basic slinging duties.
    Be involved in the casting process.
